I bought this game a while back, and simply haven`t got round to it. So I`m kinda pleased that an even better version has been made now.

Now I`m still on Wasteland 2 (which incidently released a Director`s Cut), so it`ll be a while before I can try this. So I was wondering what are the `Enhanced` abilities of this version? Is it just better graphics?

Thankyou!
From couple hours of play I can say - this is it! The previous version of the game have really bad optimization and was run so slow on my pc and now in EE I can play without any lags, stutters, etc.
Lots of odds and ends mostly. My first impression is that gameplay changes in the default mode aren't a big deal, but they seem to have buffed bleeding damage and introduced dual-wielding, so melee rogue is likely more doable than it used to be. I don't know enough to speak about overall balance, though.

The only reason I say that bleeding damage is better is because I vaguely remember it being essentially zero damage, and now the tooltips say something reasonable. I haven't actually tried it yet.

I second this. The engine has been optimized a lot. I had to play on Low settings before because the game was super slow with extra long load times, and now I can play EE on Ultra with no trouble and fast load times.

Main new things are double wands/daggers in combat and full voice acting, as well as some rewritten encounters and quests.
I have a huge performance boost. Very very nice.
are old save games compatible?

No.
After Wasteland 2 Director's Cut my expectations were muted but DOS EE completely blows me away so far. Not only does the game run a lot better but it feels better with everything feeling a little more streamlined, a little better thought out. So far the difficulty (on tactician) feels right and doesn't feel like a slog. I'm not sure on how the leveling works (DOS had a strict "Go here and DIE" formula) but I have faith that there's more leeway in how you explore in the world.

I liked the original DOS but I had issues with it from little to big things. So far, I'm highly impressed. Still can't figure out how to save that damned boat though.

The boat at the start? I cast a rain spell on it. You pick up one in the dungeon.

Do you? I've never seen it and I've played through the intro a few times. Is there a specific thing you have to do for it?

Nope, it's usually just sitting on a table before a mass of fire and some water barrels.

Huh. How did I never notice it? That explains a lot since you can't start with Rain (I don't think) I'd wondered how in the world you were supposed to solve that. Now I know.

lol yeah. I'm guessing you the hint is to use it on the fire but I keep it for the boat.
