I honestly did but I'm sorry there are some issues which I am having. Everything about this game is good except the slow run/walk speed in the opening town. Whats weird is that underground it runs fast.

I cant play this game in its current form.. Maybe when I trash my windows vista pc, I'll redownload it then.

There shouldn't be a difference in the walk / run speed above or below ground.

Did you hit 'R' to always run?

Did you try switching the game to Software mode in the configuration program?

Divine Divinity running very slow and clunky (note: this topic mentions using the disk version configuration program with the old GOG version of DD; you don't need it with the current version unless you want to try Glide or Direct Draw).
And maybe you're toting around more stuff in town? Hit the weight limit and your character can't move as fast. Drop off some stuff and you're running again.

Worth looking at...
This is completely ridiculous. I read both the threads and these people aren't speaking english. I looked for the config tool but honestly can't they tell how to do it in a language that is easy to comprehend? I mean I understood none of what they were talking about.

The only thing I did was set the performance to very low to speed it up. Didn't work. Honestly this game would be ok if it ran normally. The graphics weren't really even needed.

The configtool.exe program is in the 'Divine Divinity' install folder, and there should be a shortcut to it in the Start Menu program folder (All Programs | GOG.com | Divine Divinity | Configuration).

1.005a actually requires the old config.tool (DVD) in order to set software mode from D3d, IIRC. Did the config.tool change for 1.0062, I wonder, to include that functionality? If there's a newer config.tool available for 1005a and up that allows switching between D3d and software, is it available for download? Or, did I get things confused here? (I really don't want to download the whole package again just for '62.)

BTW, Raze, your support for these games is excellent--you are one patient fellow, and somebody should be pinning medals on your chest...;) Thanks for all your help and suggestions!

Yes, the config tool for 1.006 (136KB) was changed to allow Direct3D or Software rendering methods. It is possible to use it with the 1.005 version of the game (changed resolution and switched to Software, loaded a save, but didn't continue playing).

There is a music fix for the 1.006 version of the game, which is not compatible with 1.005. That is the most significant difference between 1.005 and 1.006 (before that there wasn't much reason to upgrade if you didn't need support for languages other than English).
