I'm re-playing Divine Divinity for the umpteenth time after a break of at least 2 years. I find I'm yet again enjoying the challenge of the game and finding aspects of the voice acting/dialogue as fun as ever.

However, it occurred to me that not since my 2nd playthrough (about 10 years ago) have I ever found the boulder which reveals a cache of potions when you move it. So, I've been traversing the land around Aleroth, merrily moving boulders and, so far, no loot. If my memory serves me correctly, its somewhere near to the Orc camp to the left of the path where Lord Seth stands.

My question is this; is this memory/boulder real, or is it something I've remembered incorrectly?

Any one know?

Great game, isn't it? I've played it a load of times (though not always to the end since that last part is seriously tedious) and I can't remember a boulder with a cache of potions under it. There is a locked chest directly to the right of the orcs at the barricade across the road that you come to not long after leaving Aleroth. I have no clue what's in that chest since I never came back to unlock it but it could be potions. Is it possible that chest is what you remember?

Speaking of the voice acting, do you have any idea who voiced the Warrior, Zandalor or John the Dragon Rider? I keep thinking Rolf Saxon when I hear the Warrior. The rest of the voices suck, IMO, but those three are really good.

Well, I take that back. The dwarf and the human wagon drivers were pretty good and those two skeletons falling apart 'cos of excess existential thought were a hoot. But the Warrior, Zandalor and John were outstanding.

There is a key to the chest and the answer to where it is, lies in your post :) The Alt key should be useful here.

I think the bolder is in the landscape on the other side of the path to where the chest sits, but it is soooo long since the one and only time I've ever found the potion cache I may not be remembering things correctly.

I don't know who the voice actors are, or if they're listed in the end credits, but I think Raze will know the answers to both our questions, so lets hope he finds this thread.

I've not long met the dragon rider and Zandalor for the first time and agree on the quality of VA from these characters. I am now on my way to the inn.......

The silver key! Duh!

I hope someone does post an answer to your question about the boulder or I'll be trudging back and forth all over the woods around Aleroth next time I play looking for it. Maybe. I get too much fun out of watching the orcs expire in a fountain of cinders to be distracted and usually, by that time, I have enough potions.

The last time I played I finally figured out how to kill the tree and had a great time chasing Kistandalius out of his shop with the new bug, after which he refused to go back in. <g> Obviously it doesn't take much to amuse me.
I don't remember that there was a boulder but something like a potion cache does exist. If my memory served me correctly there is some kind of hidden pit (covered with grass?) somewhere west of the orc barricade on the road south of Aleroth. I could be wrong, of course. :-)

At least I'm not alone in thinking there's a cache somewhere in that region :)

Perhaps I should leave the boulders alone now.........
I remember a broken down abandoned wagon with a cache of potions. It has a note from a wizard saying "don't touch!" or something to that effect.

I also remember a 2-Handed sword (Blade of Chaos) hidden behind a rock.

But I think what you're talking about is just southeast of the Ars Magicana marketplace. There's an empty house with a a Romeo and Juliet love letter, if you go south from there, there should be a shallow cave with goodies.
