Not sure why GoG didn't get Original Sin on launch day, I tried to wait, but ended up buying it from Steam 2 days ago, then you guys finally have it up for sale today. =D To many people talking about how awesome the game was, and just had to buy it since I didn't know when GoG would get it. oh well, thank goodness it is DRM free on Steam as well, which makes it easy to have the game installed on both of my desktops in my house, and my wife could be playing the game when I am not playing it without having to use my Steam account to play it.

It's either they were really delaying it for Galaxy or maybe trying to avoid the launch rebate thing? Just crazy in any case.

Even though we could get away with it, we won't play Co-Op with one game being bought. Can't afford to buy a second copy just yet. So we basically take turns playing the game so only one copy is being used at a time since we only bought 1 copy.

Will probably buy the second copy from GoG though when we can afford to buy a second copy. My wife doesn't have a Steam account, and really don't want another log on to remember, so we can just buy from GoG on my account. Keep things simple.

But still, very strange that GoG delayed release for this game, it lost them some sales doing that.

Well I have zero idea of the pure legal point of view but Steam version of DoS can be played without the Steam client. And Steam allows install a game on any computer you want.

So you can install it two times on two PC, and then launch them both without Steam to play coop. But clearly please please don't abuse of this freedom, designers dev and publishers need your support.

I think this game lends itself well to playing in front of one screen. Simply swap the mouse in combat and in dialogs.

Yeah, it does work, tried it for curiosity sake. But yeah, don't feel right playing the game in coop with 1 bought game. I have no problem with having the game installed on 2 computers, and my wife and I take turns playing the game, but never at the same time.

i am actually thinking of contacting Larian and see what their feelings are about my wife and I playing Coop with 1 bought copy of the game. I remember back in the old school days, there were a few games that actually allowed a "client" if you will to be installed on another computer to play co-op over a LAN or Dial up, but that "client" only allowed Coop play, and couldn't be used to play the full game outside of coop with the "host" game.

I doubt you'll get any clear answer, at best, that it's tolerated meaning no issue to worry about but not legal. If you want my morale advice, for a temporary solution it seems fine, the game was made for couples so it would be non sense to not play it like that if you want do so. Later when you'll can you'll buy the second copy, that simple.

I remember the original Starcraft back in the days, with one original copy you are legally allowed to install spawn installations on up to 7 other computers and play it with 8 people on LAN's :-)

I don't think Larian would mind, they're a small studio and happy you've bought the game in the first place, but obviously I can't speak on their behalf.

I've backed for the "Name a pet" tier + 1 extra copy addon so I've got like 3 or 4 "licenses" :-)
