Hello everyone,

I'm level 4 in divine divinity, and I've forgotten to up my skill (give points to each abilities).
And now, I can't distribute them. Are they disapeared ?
I'm level 4 and i'm just like a begginer oO !
Is it normal ? Is it a bug ?

Help me if you can ;) (sorry for my english, i'm french)

Bye !
Do you have free skill points (the skill icon is changed to a red arrow) and can not distribute them, or do you just not have the points any more?

You should be able to save skill points (or stat points) and distribute them later.

Your second link answer my question. He's got the same situation... thanks !!

You might want to take a look at this post (see the attached image for the post)

You need to ALWAYS press the check-mark button on the leveling dialog. If you close the dialog with the X it will not save your changes and appears they were lost. Just redistribute the points and press the check mark. On some netbooks, the checkmark can be clipped due to the resolution.

If you have not already started over, you can use iZakaron's Save editor to give your character back the stat points lost when saving (with distributed but un-applied points) and then reloading.

Without leaving Aleroth, you can reach level 4 before you enter the catacombs...

minor spoiler

Explore / loot around Aleroth and kill any rats, chickens or cows that you want (50 exp on level 1, plus meat which heals a small amount), but you may want to delay completing any quests. At level 1, if you defeat the zombie Jake (the graveyard would be easiest), you will get enough experience points to bring you up to level 3. This requires a lot of hit and run with a bow, or a moderate amount using Meteorstrike. Defeat him a second time (in his cellar) and you get to level 4.

Yes, you can give yourself back the 15 stat points (5 each for level 2, 3 and 4) that you lost.

What are you having trouble with? There is a description of how to use the program on the page I linked to, but if you let me know where you are having a problem, I can go into more detail.

Basically, you need to download the editor and extract the zip file somewhere, then run the DDSaveEdit.exe program. Next, click the '...' button at the top right (by the 'Save File' text box), browse to the DD savegames folder, and then in your latest save select the data.000 file and open it. Next, click on 'Redistribute Points', then in the 'Free Points' box just above there, type in 15 (if you are still on level 4) and then click 'Save'. Once you re-load that save game your stat points will be back, and you can distribute them.
