Hello,

I'm not able to start the game, some time ago I was playing it just fine on Win 7, after I upgrade to Win10 I had the idea to start a new game, I downloaded it, and as I start it, GOG Galaxy tells me that the cloud saves being synchronized, and just after a while nothing happens. The button is being again green, and the game won't start.

I have a Win 10 x64 Home Edition, GT440 with 4 GB RAM.
Other games are working just fine.

I was "googling" and searching for the same problem here on the forum, I tried to install the VC++ packages, all of them were already on the system.

I tried also to copy the files “msvcp110.dll” and “msvcr110.dll” in to the “Shipping” folder of the game, but that didn't help.

Maybe someone knows how to fix this problem. Thanks.

Best wishes,

Ivan

Oh, sorry. I have totally forgotten that this is a forum for all games.
I'm talking about Divinity: Original Sin 1 EE.

Start with right clicking the game in GOG Galaxy. Choose "Manage installation", then "Verify/Repair". If it still doesn't work, try to turn off the cloud saves. Right click on the game, choose "Settings" and uncheck the "Sync local saves with GOG Galaxy Cloud" box. You can also try to run the game without GOG Galaxy. Go to the game folder and launch the proper .exe file.

No changes. Tried everything you mentioned above, nothing changed. Starting the game by launching the .exe file didn't work either.
Maybe there is something else?

Did you get any type of message when you launched the game without Galaxy?

No. Nothing at all. Tried also with “sync local saves — on”, starting the game just begins the sync process and then nothing. It is as if the game was never started.

Are you using some antivirus software or a firewall? If so, try to disable them. Try to shut down other unnecessary applications running in the background. Also it might be a good idea to reinstall the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, especially the one that's in the game folder (Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2013\vcredist_x64). Simply uninstall the version you have and run the installer.

That did it. Deleted from Windows the VC++ 2013 (both x86 and x64). At this point the game was already working. But I went to Microsoft website and downloaded the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 (I do not have a _CommonRedist folder in the game directory) and installed both x86 and x64. Now the game is starting well.
Thanks for help here. Hope that this will maybe help somebody too. ^_^

Best wishes,
Ivan
