I am well into the game but I have never used a elixer or other "un-named" potion. I just found a trader with "Grey" Potion, whatever that is.

What do they do?

Purple elixirs and grey potions restore a little bit (not much) of health and mana. There is a purple potion that temporarily boosts resistances.

I used a superdrug once to see what it was (temporary +100 poison resistance, -100 spiritual resistance), and a couple shadow potions, but mostly just used health and mana potions until restoration potions become more effective.

Thanks, I kept thinking I would just try one but never did. Sounds like they aren't really worth much.
