Looking at the screen shots (the 4th one) for DD I see there is an awesome scene with a dragon rider blasting away at the PC above the gate for the Barracks castle. In the background, you can see Orcs running wild. Just finished the game - nothing like that happened.

I'm guessing if you don't drop the poison in the Orc's water supply that might trigger a later Orc invasion but I don't know.

Has anybody seen anything like that happen?

Also, looking at the 7th and 8th screen shots I notice there's a big dragon flying around. Other than Patriarch in the endgame I didn't see anything like that in the game. And Patriarch didn't move.

I do remember attacks mid-way or at the end of the barracks quest which had a Dragon Rider but I don't know if it has a special trigger for the rider or if he was random.

Quoted from here.

"As soon as you finish speaking to General Alix the first time, orcs will attack the barracks. The soldiers can defend themselves perfectly well, but you might be able to land some deathblows and gain some extra experience if you're quick."

I can't say that I remember dragons flying around other than the dragon riders mount.

It may be different screens of the Patriarch, (see images at bottom of linked page) . . =)

I recall that event. I didn't see any dragon rider but I was pretty busy running around, dealing deathblows, so I might not have noticed.

No, the Patriarch didn't do much in the game I finished. If you look at the screen shots (here on GOG) you'll see that the black dragon is attacking human soldiers. There aren't even any human soldiers on the map where the Patriarch hangs out.

But the dragon does look similar. Same model. Or maybe it's possible it shows up earlier in the game??
also notice 120 points in every stat :-/. I have not finished the game but I doubt that 120 in every stat is achievable... These pictures are some kind of promo maybe..

Oh, that's not hard. You'll be around level 50 when you finish the game PLUS there are all sorts of charms you use to pump your stats up. Also potions. on the final boss battle my character slurped up all the strength potions I had stockpiled and had an absurd strength stat - I think it was over 800.

If you were building a balanced character it could be done. This is a stat dialog for a fighter character I had right before the final battle. I had intentionally built him for brute force but could have distributed my points more evenly and found charms that would boost my low stats. Charms are very effective . . . =)

ahh alright :-) maybe you're right. But I'm just finished the game and had level 46 character with stats (107,105,26,85) and 10 bonus points :-). (and 20 skill saved points :-D ) so.. I wil need another ~30levels to boost stats to 120. Don't mention about 80 bonus points their character has bonus points. :-). Yes and at that point (dragon rider at barracks) I also didn't see any of them. I think there were only 3 I had fighting thorough game. (1 dark forest, 1 wasteland, 1 black ring temple)

That's interesting and makes me wonder if the dragon riders are tied to a character type or level. My last game was as a warrior and I had around 10 or so dragon riders. I ran into one group of four together in the wastelands with the rest scattered throughout the game.

One thing that helps is carefully choosing your charms. I sometime waited several levels before I applied charms to my weapons / armor. Always looking for the best combo since there was a real boost from charms.

Edit: should add that I did every quest only missing the one where I buy exotic wine. I had taken the bottle at the inn which nulled out the quest. Doing all the quest helps with . . . everything . . . =)

cool,
There is location according walkthrough on banshee.com about couple of dragonriders in wasteland. But I have not probably been there. And I was lazy to even go there :-). I missed a lot of quest but some because of script error I assume. Charms are cool but I was distracted by the fact that they were one-time using only. I was warrior too. Exotic wine was flawed also. I bring exotic wine but quest was still in the not finished quest list.
I'm sad. I think that this game has potential to have larger map. I think that was too small. (smaller than faery tale adventure 2 or ultima 7 serpent isle I assume. Amazing sountrack should be spent on additional locations :-). But I enjoyed it :-). Considering now beyond div. to play :-).

Yeah, the dragon riders in the wasteland killed me right away, couldn't outrun them and four was too many even though my character was in top condition. I finally lured them one at a time and got on with the game.

DD is one of my favorite RPG's. Seems like no two characters play the same. I didn't care for Beyond Divinity at all . . . still not finished it. I am looking forward to the day Divine Divinity 2 has the DRM removed as it is more like the original DD. . . .=)
