Sorry if this is a known issue - I couldn't find any account on it.

Often (but not always) when I open the inventory menu (or examine an NPC etc.), the red X in the top right-hand corner to close the menu will be flickering or completely disappear when I don't hover over it. It doesn't seem to depend on whether the camera is turned or showing the standard angle.

Any ideas on what could be the cause for this? My game is fully patched and display drivers (AMD FirePro M4000) are up to date.

Thanks

I'm not sure what the problem is, but the button isn't suppose to be red unless you are hovering over it (or near; the active area is larger than the button itself).

Did you try changing the game resolution, or switching to windowed or fake fullscreen display mode to see if that would make a difference?

Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anything input related) before starting the game? Overlays from graphics tweaking/monitoring programs or chat programs have also caused issues.

Do you have any non-standard mouse options or accessibility features set in Windows?

If you are using Galaxy, try verifying local files: select Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition in the left column, then click on the More button, and in the Manage menu select 'Verify / Repair'.
Thanks for the reply.

Should the button always be there and just change colour?
In my case sometimes it is there and changes colour when hovering over it, sometimes the whole button only appears when hovering over it (or even only when clicking on it), sometimes it doesn't change colour at all and sometimes it flickers in various ways.

I've tried different resolutions and window modes and shut down all non-essential programs, but the problem persists. I am playing on a laptop and usually plug in a mouse before starting the game. I don't think I have any other non-standard features enabled.

So far there are no other issues with animations triggered by hovering over an object (such as item outlines lighting up) or other graphical glitches, so it isn't hugely disturbing, but I don't know if it could be a symptom of some worse underlying problem.

I am not using Galaxy. Do you think it could be an issue with the file describing this animation?

Yes.

I think if the problem was the file itself, it would be more consistent.
Hi,

Just out of curiousity. I can get my hands on a second hand PC with the same GPU. How well does this game perform on the firepro m4000? Also, which CPU are you using?

It runs smoothly on 1920x1080. My CPU is an Intel i7-3740QM. I got 16GB RAM and it runs on an SSD, so the GPU is the weakest bit of the system.
