Congratulations on getting the project funded within the first 12 hours!

After reading the preview on gamestar.de I actually thought to myself that this sounds too good to be true. There are so many interesting new and cool things you plan for the sequel. It is actually a brave thing in my opinion, because usually sequels in this day and age most like follow the same route in order to guarantee a success. I think it is a good decision to take a more "serious" approach in terms of the story and turn away from the colorful cartoonish looks. But I applaud to your commitment to take the player serious and make the games about freedom and player decisions and not about how the designers think it should be played.

Anyway I am really excited about this game, something that very few announcements can achieve these days. Here is to hoping you get the funding you need to add even more interesting things.
Raze_Larian,

Congratulations again for achieving funding so quickly and having already more than doubled your goal!

Not to be self-serving, but I put a suggestion on the Original Sin 2 UserVoice page and I think this is naturally the best forum to talk about GOG Galaxy integration. With GOG already delivering games with GOG Galaxy functionality and with Galaxy-based multiplayer having been previously tested and delivered with a handful of released games, is GOG Galaxy integration something at least under consideration for Original Sin 2?

Yes. It has been said that the alpha and beta would be done through GOG if it is possible to do so, otherwise people will be able to get a Steam key for that and a GOG key for the released game. While not an official conformation, I can't see GOG adding support for betas but not using Galaxy for that (though the uncertainty of being able to do the alpha/beta through GOG could involve other factors, as well).

You made my day with "Yes", everything after is icing on the cake. Is there much hope we might get that official confirmation one way or another on a GOG-based alpha/beta before the end of the Kickstarter campaign?

I don't think so; that will depend on how the Galaxy client develops and if that function is available by the time the game is ready to start the alpha test.

BTW, Galaxy support has been explicitly confirmed for D:OS 2 now.

Well, I think that's understandable. Either way, you keep making my day with this GOG Galaxy news. Since I haven't said this yet, thank you very much for the information and for taking the time to respond!
