After same research is done...there're several Units that End up with 2+ active Skills that need to be targeted at a specific target.

Did anyone find a way to allow the Units to autouse the skills or to pause the tactic fights?

It's a bit disapoitting that all the research should be useless..because...at even or hard battles the time that is needed to select the specific unit, to activate the skills and search&select the target is wasted...compared to using the same time as a Dragon..destroing enemys or giving AOE'buffs...

I was finding the same issue. There seems to be a "quick" use button for some of your selected units next to the dragon abilities bar. But I have found the passive abilities of both my dragon and units to be much more worth researching.

It looks like those buttons on the side of the dragons quick bar are for building troops, sorry about the confusion. But it does show how much I prefer passive abilities. :)

:)...

I have seen those "Troop-Qiuickbar"..what is mean is best explained by two typical situations...

I. I have to hold a position for a while..for whatever reasons...;)

As the first enemy Units march into the firing range of my longrange Units (Devastor(s)/Juggernaut(s) with Rangeupgrade+Zepplinsupport...i give my Units 1+ of the usefull Aoebuffs..and then i flank the enemy as a dragon.
Depending at his/her reaction and available troops...i kite then, make fast flyby through his/her lines and use Dots or AOe Abillities, hit and runs to destroy Supportunits like Healers/Zepplin/,...

Then i notice something like...a badly hurt Devastor/Juggernaut/Zeppelin...and that a Shamans-Shild would be fine...but..tapping through the Untis, searching Shamans..then targeting the Unit&shilding it...would be imposible during "combat"-flight..."taking a break" to do it would kill me...flying back to a spot where i can do it without danger would 1.cost to much time and 2.would be nonsense compared the things i can achive if i stay behind the enemy lines/at his flanks.

II. I attack a well defended position
After gathering the troops shortly out of the enemy range...i form the groups i need, give them their order and use AOEbuffs....then..the same as I...depending at the enemy reaction and strenght...i flank him, attack from behind/above, make fast breakhrough to use AOE or Dot-Attcks,...and again..there is no usefull way to use the Units special abilities without killing myself or giving up so much advantage that it would be wasted anyway...

I know could and allready tried...play the Dragon more as a "Super Support Unit" but it didn't feel right because it was neither meat nor fish...the tactical part still was limited in Dragon form nor was i able to really fight because of the Dragons Setting...and thats it..i can only be a good commander or a good Dragon ;)

The Question is...is it my fault because i don't like the 70%Commander/60% Fighter Combination while playing as support Dragon..or does it really miss the needed synergie.

To find it out..i ask you to share you experience about commanding the Units in Dragonform.

The quick buttons depend on your selection.
If you have units selected then it will be for one type of those units (you can cycle through them with TAB), if you have a building selected then it will have buttons for that building's production options.

What I always do is set my factories to groups 6, 7 and 8, allowing me to quickly produce more units in dragon form by selecting them with ALT+6-8 and using Q to set a rally point for the buildings, so that units immediatly start moving towards the battle.
I then have my troops set as groups as well, so I can use ALT+1-5 for micromanaging (for example to keep my zeppelins out of the line of fire but also be able to quickly deploy their mustard gas) and F3 and F2 for some more indiscriminate carnage. When I have mixed groups, I use TAB to cycle to the ability I want (usually the trooper's capture ability).
