I rolled my eyes looking at the stat-requirements of the items (they demand 65-90 point to equip, while you start with 25, gain 5 point every level).

I double-rolled my eyes for every bloody equipment has only 1 duration, thus they cannot be repaired.

I tripple-rolled my eyes meeting the guardians, who really just oneshot my character in melee. Whatever, let's use bow.

I quadruple-rolled my eyes meeting with summoner skeletons, who also onshot me in melee. And there are the ghouls too.

But what to do with the spell-spammer (archer?) giant-undead in Catacombs lvl 3??? Seriously!

char: lvl 6 male fighter, 2 sword, 2 augment damage, 1 elven sight, 1 repair, 2 restore, 2 identify, 1 unspent

I know you can repair but it's been too long since I played.

I know how repair works. Problem is, all my stuff has 1 maximum duration, what means I'd need 5 point in repair to fix them, which I obviously don't have at this point.

The problem I asked tips for is that archer/spellcaster miniboss.

----------------------

EDIT: ok, original problem solved.
Solution: open the tomb from the nort. Run north up to that stage-or-what. Walk around it as the archer/caster skeleton does, and shoot with arrows when at the top/bottom. Don't stop at the sideways, there it can shoot through.
Need: bow with 3+ durability, repair skill.

Every time You repair your equipment it loses max durability. If instead reairing them yourself, you go back to town to reapir it, it will be much better.

This statement is NOT true. Unlike in Dialo 1, in this Diablo 1.5 they fixed this, and the maximum durability does not get lowered. No idea on the exacts, but with just 1 repair you can repair 2 maximum durability items INDEFINITE (from 0/2 to 1/2). 1/1 items cause the problem, because the numbers are runded down, at least to a degree.

Btw, next QUESTION: how much HP you need on Hard mode? Of course I'm playing Hard, the difference is not that hugh. But I'm tired of getting oneshot.
I spent all my point until now to be able to wear friggin equipment (the developer-gods be blessed for the magic lockpick and its +20 AGI), but I still have to work on my constitution to stand the slighest change in ANYarea where are what I call "minibosses": things with like a thousand HP and I think like 200 dmg per hit.
Then will come the question of healing of course... but that's so far away I'm not worried.

Btw, I still can't getrid of orc drummers, despite ridiculously opverpowered at this point. They of course count as miniboss, but I could attack them from behind, thus not get attacked back. Like that'd help. They get a FULLHEAL with every drumming, which happens so fast my 65 STR, 138-166 dmg weapon, WHICH ALSO HAS 4 in lightning and fire(!) can't kill. It's ridiculous!

Freeze.

lordhoff: Freeze.
Thx, but I try to avoide the cheesey/gamecrashing skills.

Seems I need more maximum HP (and probably better healing) and attack from the front.

Btw, could the next patch fix Hugh's final reward? 1,000 gold is 1,000 gold I mean.

I also suspect the trap-scorpions got a 0 added to their level. It should be 10-20-30-40-50, not 100-200-etc.

--------------------

EDIT:
So, how many timed quests are there anyway?
- you must solve all sidequests in Arroyo-or-what-starter-village before leaving, or they fail (patients die and so on)
- you must get to whoever-Seth-sends-you in 11 days
- you must do the brun the cart quest in 1 day? Inone day-night cycle? Until midnight? Until morning? Or something.
- you must go into the Dwarven Inn ASAP or that +3 free reputation goes away (darn)
- you must solve the murder-mysteries of the vampire before starting the Council of Seven quest (that thing is monstrous with its lvl 30, 4K HP, permanent running)
- don't go to the abandoned imp castle until you've done the 2nd warrior quest
- and there is the convoluted summoning ritual quest, which relates to killing the talking tree, some alchemist quest if my notes are right, and the burn the cart quest.Oh yeah.

Why can't developers do their quests failsafe? The player should getall the quests nomatterwhat the picking order, and quests should not prevent each other. Ye, the solutions should be able to go multiply way, but how about either give balanced reward for being "evil" (selfish), or ruining the goody-good ones (no normal person would give you any reward at all if you don't ask for any reward!).

EDIT: Rak'Sheen.Ye. Shows how gamebreaking freeze is.

EDIT: seriously. How much time I'll need to sell all my accumlated stuff before going to the Wastelands??? answer: a ton of real life time.

EDIT: did you try to sell your items? This game lacks vendors. Especialy vendors with cash. If I'd knew that, I'd start selling my equipment ASAP from the start, not waiting for reputation and skills to build up!

EDIT: wisdom is the stupidest skill ever. Why? Because when hitting the gong your exp/level will be balanced out anyway. Not to mention its bonus is lame.
When traveling to the Wasteland you'll getexp literaly like you'd open the imp's exp-jar 5 times. That takes away all difference wisdom would ever make.
Ok, acutly I was 39.5 clvl when I had nothing left to do. I thught this is ridiculous, so I hunted down firendly NPCs whodidn't cry for police (reputation drop), and when they ran out, used Poison Cloud on even more characters. Barely any gives exp anymore at that point by the way. Yes, I achieved clvl 40 this way. Note to this: during the whole game until hitting The Gong almost always had +1 wisdom on me (from equipment).
