hey,
im having weird bug with my portals, my already activated portals dont work, i mean i have multiple scrolls of different races, and i had activated already around half of all portals in world, but now suddenly, when i either manually bring up portal map, or i go to already activated portal, and portal map shows up, they are all inactive, even tho i have necessary scrolls in my inventory.
but when i go to unactivated portal, i can activate and it works, well at least it shows blue flame in portal map, sadly its only one, because all others are still inactive, and it might be game breaking for me, as i have already been in the council of seven hall and activated that portal, but now like all others previously activated ones simply dont work, and i dont think there are other ways to get back there, so any advice on this?
yeah, game version is 1.0 something and im having win7 x64 if that helps.

yanoss: im having weird bug with my portals
A couple people have run into that problem, but there is a relatively easy fix. See the last couple posts in the topic Teleporter Gates ceased functioning (the last post for a way to enable specific teleporter pads, or the one before for a download with them all enabled). If you have an older working save, copying the telpstates.000 file from that save folder to your most recent one will enable the teleporter pads again that were active in the older save.

The Game version (shown in the bottom right corner of the main menu) should be 1.0062A.

well, it was helpful, at least to some extent, i mean i manually activated in hex editor all portals i had previously activated, and they even work :D but, now for some reason, few of my previously explored areas are unexplored, like sewers of verdistis and verdistis itself, and even council of seven, well not like its a big deal, but in council of seven, the door to the statues with balls is closed, i have yet to try to throw in my pyramid, but will be troublesome to find all remaining members without hints, at least i hope it will be even possible because of some story limitations :D

Verdistis and the council hall are tracked in the .x1 and .1 files in the save folder. The world.x1 file keeps track of quest opened locations, items left directly on the ground, etc, while the fog of war is mapped in the shroud.x1 file. Neither should be effected by a change to the teleporter states file.

There are several ways to work around the map being reset, but unless you accidentally overwrote the world.x1 file or something when hex editing, there shouldn't be a problem with the save if it was working before the edit. In the hex editor Hackman, for example, the 'open' and 'new' buttons (together on the toolbar) will both let you browse to an existing file and open it; the open button lets you edit an existing file, while the new button, if you hit it accidentally, will wipe out whatever you try to open (without a conformation) and create a new file of the same name.

Try deleting the files in the '..\Divine Divinity\dynamic' folder, start the game and try reloading the edited save again. Try restoring the original telpstates.000 file, if available. Try loading the previous save, or restore a backup/copy of the latest save (if you made one before hex editing).

well, obviously i was only editing the portal file, why would i try to mess with other files.
and i was happy that portals are working, so was continuing the play, so i dont have old saves, oversaved with the ones where portals work, and deleting the dynamic folder didnt help aswell, and restoring old teleport portal leaves me with nonworking portals, so it doesnt help either, but didnt check the areas, but it doesnt matter, as without working portals, im pretty much doomed anyways.
oh well, ty for the help, guess ill play till some story limitations now kick in, or i encounter something else to delete the game, and install it again when i get the urge to play some great classics :D

You wouldn't try to. That doesn't mean another file couldn't have been accidentally moved or modified, though (I've done so on occasion). It is more likely that whatever reset the teleprter states also reset the Verdistis map, though (unless you were in Verdistis after that happened and the fog of war and quest opened locations, like the thieves guild door, were ok), especially since another person had those two things coincide, without any kind of fix attempted.

There are a couple of ways to get back into the scrying room in the Council Hall, described in the link above.

well, honestly dont really understand how changing values in one file, can change things in other files which are not even related, and was never touched.
but anyways, found out you can simply throw in pyramid that orb-statue room and access everything without problems, well, at least there wasnt any problems with new story cinematics and quests :)
