Hi,

I play Divinity Original Sin EE with a friend.
I play with a GoG version and my friend with a Steam version.
The 2 games are in version 2.0.119.430.

When i check my spell, the tooltip don't show one important information. The tooltip don't show if the spell if for a novice, adepte or master. (see screenshot in attachment)

So, it's hard to see if i can learn the spell or not ....

It's a problem related to the gog version ??

Thanks,

Unfortunately yes. See this thread for more details - http://www.gog.com/forum/divinity_series/divinity_os_ee_skill_tooltip_missing_skill_level

Yes, it is. According to some users, the game has stopped displaying information on skills levels since the last update, that introduced support for Chinese language.
If you use GOG Galaxy or if you have a backup of the preceding offline installer of the game, you can rollback to the previous release and that should fix the bug.

EDIT: Preempted by Pajama. :-)

Really hoping the developers fix this. I don't use Galaxy and I don't have an older installer.

Contact support explaining the problem. As you're a non-Galaxy user they may give you a link to download the earlier version. Good luck.

I might try that, or just deal with it. I contacted the developers about the bug, and was told that "Unfortunately, another update at this point is unlikely." and given instructions on Galaxy rollback. Seems kind of lame to me that they can't be bothered to fix something like this, but I guess there's nothing we can do about it.

I have import the game.pak file from the steam release into my installed version.
It's seem working

If the fix is really that simple, I wonder if GOG could just fix the problem themselves by making a new installer with the previous game.pak file.

Well, this solution would probably break Chinese support. It would be simpler to provide both old and new offline installer.

Can you explain a bit more, how did you do this?

I have copy the file game.pak from an installed steam version of the game to my installed gog folder.

Much to my surprise, it doesn't seem to! After testing it by installing the previous version, copying the Game.pak file, uninstalling it, installing the current version, and then replacing its Game.pak with the old one, Chinese localization seems to still work. Granted, I don't read the language so that's just from a simple test, but still.

I have no idea if doing this could cause any problems with the game or not, but the one difference I have been able to confirm is that using the previous version's Game.pak file with the latest version fixes this bug.

Interesting! Thanks for experimenting and sharing. :-)
