The in-game hints say to hold the Ctrl key to autotarget nearby enemies, but it's not working for me.
I looked through the control options, but that option isn't in there.
I'm using Windows 7 with a Radeon 4850. My resolution is 1440x900 (widescreen bug?)

Have you checked the options to make sure that you didn't rebind control as a different command? Also an easy way to test your widescreen theory is to change to resolution to a non widescreen choice.
Nope. Nothing else is using Ctrl. There are some that are Ctrl + S, Ctrl + L, but that shouldn't matter. And it's not a widescreen problem.
I did notice that holding Ctrl highlights the enemies in red, is that all it's supposed to do? The hints imply that it automatically targets too.

The manual, about CTRL,
"This key automatically selects the enemy that is the closest to your mouse cursor."
Maybe 'selects' just means 'highlights'...
I think it's meant to help with targetting but it doesn't target per se, that's the most sense i can make of it...

Thats exactly how its meant to work. Try running away from the enemie and then hold the control button down and click to run away again. What will happen with control down is your guy will go straight for the enemy no matter where you click.

Oh, so you're supposed to click.
Thanks.
