The Linux installer, gog_divinity_original_sin_enhanced_edition_2.2.0.4.sh, appears to be corrupt, and as I now have three copies with the same incorrect MD5 checksum, I believe that the file on the server is corrupt.

The checksum of my files, as reported by MD5sum, is 743d736fbe81e0502f07338dff28bb1c. The correct checksum, written within the file header, is 9337fc886a09e350f0e0fbf2c0fa241a.

Despite the mismatched checksum, the game appears to install correctly, but when attempting to run the game an error is thrown. Please see the attached image for the error.

Same here, using a different program, but I don't have Linux installed at the moment to check if I have the same problem starting the game.

In the console, if you start the game from the runner.sh file, does that give a more detailed error message?

What video card do you have, and which drivers are you using? Only the proprietary nvidia and AMD drivers are officially supported, though there is a way to get the game working with the latest Mesa drivers.

Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game? Firewalls have caused conflicts (generally on loading screens, though) and overlays from graphics tweaking/monitoring programs or chat programs have also caused issues.

Game won't start!

Segfault before game starts {RESOLVED}
Linux notice: before playing the game, please make sure you are using the latest proprietary drivers for your graphics card.

My apologies for not reading the store page more carefully. After installing the correct drivers the game works fine.

Thanks for your quick response and help.

Hello daizehnd!

Your build has the correct checksum. If the download was corrupt, the installer most likely wouldn't start at all or crash during the installation process.

That implies that the issue is related to your system. Do you meet the game minimum requirements? Could you provide your system report? It can be generated using the script included in game's installation folder.

@Larian How about fixing this bug? Apparently it is one, according to one of the pages you linked: http://steamcommunity.com/app/373420/discussions/0/353915309344847166/

@GOG The proprietary AMD drivers are likely no longer the best solution for Linux users as AMD has been working on open source drivers for the last few years and they generally work better now than the closed source variant. It's just bugs in this game that prevent them from working out of the box.

Only the proprietary drivers are officially supported on Linux, and another update (for any platform) is unlikely at this point.

Ayup, that's our current stance as well. Mesa drivers are recommended for all AMD/ATI cards (unless developer decides otherwise, of course!). See: https://www.gog.com/news/ubuntu_1604_now_supported_on_gogcom
