Divinie Divinity.
Entered Castle, had my teleporter pyramids taken from me.
Did all Castle quests, was thrown out, lost 10 reputation, and trapped by Elona.
Finally found my way out of those dungeons, came out into graveyard.
Now none of the teleporters work, even though I had activated several of them. Not only do they not work, they won't activate again when I stop on them.

If it's part of the plot, just say so with no other spoilers, ok??

If it's a bug, argh, if it's a bug this game is frustrating. Yet it's soooooooooo damn good too. Whoever thought this one really hit the jackpot. Implementing it though, leaves some room for improvement.
This question / problem has been solved by Raze_Larianimage
The teleporter stones are either taken or stop working when you enter the castle, until you rescue Zandalor (quest received exiting Iona's dungeon) and continue with the main plot quests for a bit.

The teleporter pads, on the other hand, should not be deactivated. Though rare, a few people have run into this problem, and there are a couple ways to fix it.

If you have a save from before entering the castle when the teleporter pads were working, you can simply copy the telpstates.000 file from that save into your latest save folder. Otherwise, you can download my telpstates.000 file (1KB) with all the teleporter pads activated, or hex edit the file to enable individual ones (see below).

Teleporter Gates ceased functioning

If you don't have a hex editor, let me know which teleporter pads you had activated, and I can re-enable them.

Each save is a separate subfolder in the '..\Beyond Divinity\savegames' folder.
Under Vista/7, depending on how the user accounts are set up, if you install the game to the default Program Files path, Windows can create separate savegame folders for each user, and then map that folder to the game's savegame folder (so it will just see the saves for the relevant user).
C:\Users\ %account name% \AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Larian Studios\Beyond Divinity\savegames

Oh Jeebus.

This will be the THIRD time I've gotten past level 20, only to start over due to bugs. And it will be the last time.

I know you offered help, but I have no idea what a hex editor is (nor care) and I can't remember which had been activated and which had not been nor which scrolls I had obtained and which scrolls I had not, and that too is a quest (Obtain all the Activation Scrolls), and therefore experience points, that could also be messed up so I'm just starting over. For the last time.

Folks reading me can tell I'm frustrated, and this is true. If you had as many hours into this game as I did, you would be too. But don't let the frustration fool you. What you need to ask yourself is "Why is OFG even bothering if he's that frustrated?"

And the answer is, this game is that good. Really. It's one of those games that when you play it, time flys and you look up and the sun is creeping into the Windows of a new day. And when you're not playing it, times draws to a crawl, as it seems to take forever to get.... back to playing it again.

I'm gonna start over this time, and it will be my last, and I will save it at time points of gaining each new level, and if I don't finish it this time, then I'm done forever I guess. But don't let my frustration influence you, this game is good. Plus, from what I understand, not everyone gets all these bugs. I've just been "fortunate" and seem to have gotten every damn one of 'em.

Thanks for your help Raze, it is really appreciated. And I wish you, and Larian, the best of luck moving foreward. I wish this game wasn't so buggy, but damn you guys hit it out of the park on the game itself. It's awesome. If you wonder whether I'm being honest about that, you need only consider. This is the ONLY game I've EVER bought THREE TIMES. Bought the CD version way back in the day, bought it here at GOG. AND bought it over at Steam, just to try another version out. It's a great game.

The scrolls you obtained should still be in your inventory. For the teleporter pads, I could just enable all the ones in the areas you have explored already, and then you could double check that you can teleport to and from them. If you find you can not teleport from a particular pad it means it was not officially activated, and I can update the telpstates.000 file to reflect that, so you don't miss any experience.

Ok, that does sound like it would work without messing anything else up.

What do I do?? Just post that file with a jpg extension, and let you download it, edit, and load it back up with a jpg extension?

EDIT: Oh I guess that wouldn't tell you how much of the map I have explored and which scrolls I have would it.

What do I do?

Just tell me which areas you have explored. Have you done any / much of the Dark Forest? Been to Verdistis, or the sewers there? Have you cleared the full starting map of Ferol?

OK, the game is on my desktop and it's powering on now. Plus, I'm expecting a DirecTV service call from 2:30 to 4:30 so I have to leave my man cave and go upstairs so I'll hear them and let them in, so can I do all this later today, say 7:00 PM EDT??

I will tell you what teleporters I've uncovered, and which scrolls I've obtained, and that should tell you which ones activated right? Cause I activated all the ones I found that I COULD activate.
Yes, that is fine. You could also just zip the save folder and email it to me (raze@larian.com). The shroud files would let me know where you have explored, and the story files which teleporter pads have been activated, but it would be just as easy to send the whole save.

It would be just as easy, except I don't know how to Zip a folder or file. Do I have to have special software or will Windows 7 do that?

EDIT: OOPS, my bad. That was the GOG save games I was looking at. Sorry, I've got the save game now.

In Windows 7 you can zip file(s) or folder(s) in Windows Explorer (WinKey+E, etc) by right clicking on it/them and selecting 'Send To | Compressed (zipped) Folder'.

OK, zipped and sent. THANK YOU!
EDIT: Oops, it didn't lose my stashes, I looked in the wrong barrell.

IT's FIXED!!!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

Oops, I didn't remember this until I started to load your save, but when a teleporter pad is activated a map flag gets added to the main map saying 'Teleporter xyz'. That probably would have been the easiest way to determine which you had activated. Oh well, with your save I was able to test that the re-enabled teleporter pads worked, and enabled another teleporter pad as a test (not included in the fixed file, which I've emailed back).

If you want to get back into the castle to explore outside the main building to loot (not that there is a lot of loot there, but there may be a decent amulet in the house where Janus' mother lives) or clear the fog of war, there are a couple ways to do so. You can toss a teleporter stone past the guards who stop you, or try to run in, and immediately after the conversation ends (pausing the game may help), click inside the castle again (the guards will not be fast enough to stop you a second time). Technically you are not suppose to be back inside the castle, so NPCs will still call you the Lord protector, etc. Looting should be fine, but I don't know if a lot of interaction with the main character NPCs would cause any problems.

I feel for you with all these bug posts.

My advice, from here on out, make a new save every 5 or 10 minutes or after any level up or quest completion. It's a lot less of a pain in the butt than starting a new game from scratch every time.

Raze_Larian: You can toss a teleporter stone past the guards who stop you,...
Just noticed this.

When I went into the castle, some wizard or something took my teleporter stones. And I didn't get them back when I got out of the castle.

Is this another bug? Were they in one of those dungeons perhaps in an area I missed? Or do they return later in the story? Not looking for spoiler level details, just would like to know if it's a bug, and if not, whether I should go back down in those dungeons to take a look for them or not worry about them right now. I was proceeding as though this is normal and not worrying about them.

Thanks for any help.
