bug report, and a workaround:
in dwarven halls you can't click on a lot of stuff. it's red and you can't pick it up or move it or anything. not everythign is like that just a whole buncha stuff.
however, if you use telekinesis you can manipulate everythign just fine =)

I just wanted to add that I encountered what seems to be a bug. For some reason in the Imp's Castle, left-clicking does seem to function beyond movement/attacking. That is, I cannot pick up items or, most importantly, go down the stairs.
When I leave that area, control functions normally.
Anyone else encounter this?

Fighting any orc shamans eventually crashes the game during the fight unless it's very quickly. Since Baluk has a lot more health, there's always plenty of time for him to crash the game.

i am not familiar with the telekinesis work-around. could you please explain?

zphil: use telekinesis to pick up stuff you cant pick up because of bug. doesnt work all the time but works great in dwarven halls (but not in warriors guild)
new bug: desdemona's attack causes instant CTD
new bug: hell spikes on bees/wasps causes instant CTD

Ok 3 new ones....(these are game breaking since they are part of main quests...)
- Can't activate anything in the 2 castles in the dark forest (so can't go in the catacombs to do the the warrior guild's quest, and can't read the holy book in the second one).
- Games crashes as soon a fight begins with the dwarven invaders (Desdemona?) in the Elven burrial ground underground level)
- Can't complete the Ankarra(?) level to get the Imp for the council of 7...

in response those two aren't main quest, they are actually side quest.. but yes, still very sad. I have the same bug, too.
desdemona is some crazy woman who sics orcs on you. she's in aneroth (revisted) and if I let her hit me she crashes the game. i froze her solid and then put a stack of hellspikes on your butt, and she croaked right away. it's the only time in the whole game ive used freeze by the way, i'm trying to avoid the "cheap shots" if at all possible (freeze, scorpion traps, aura of command)
i have a nasty bug with ankara too, i am SLOOOOOOWLY hacking through the level, crashing ever 30 seconds as I run into wasps, reloading, saving, crashing, reloading, saving...sigh*
I think I may well revert to an earlier save and leave the imp alone for now.
good god, i hope the patch doesn't require starting the game over... although that wouldn't be that bad, either. hey Larian, listen.... if you need us to restart the game over pls include a cheating utility so we can edit the characters... ;-) that would go a LONG way toward mending hurt feelings!

another bug. attacking El Shrimpo causes CTD.
well, i'm going to be putting Divine Divinity aside for a little while now, until the patch comes out. I finished all the quests I could, and now I can't get any further because the game is stuck at the imp council member.
sigh* I kind of wish that this was simply the regular retail version. i play at only 800x600 anyway, and it would be perfect.

These bugs and crashes are getting silly now. It's a shame because the game can be enjoyable, but as it stands, DD is not in a state fit for purchase. I'm glad Larian are making a patch, because it is needed, but in the meantime continuing to sell a broken game that clearly wasn't tested enough before being 'remastered' is not a great way to promote the service or the game itself. Roll on the patch....

Seems to be an upcoming patch implied - where'd you read that? I have most of the same problems as everyone else, and I too am going to have to walk away for a while before I get frustrated enough to stop playing it altogether.

Game crashes every time after the cut scenes.

In the catacombs under the healers village where the game begins in the last level where i kill thelyron and all the skeletons attack me.The game crashes within a minute of the attack.Why?No idea....maybe the fight is overwhelming with all the skeletons on screen....i'll have to put the game aside until the patch arrives 'cuz i can't get past the fight right now...

Won't fix the bug but . . .might get you past it so . .
Once you kill Thelyron just run straight out of the room the way you came in, kill nothing, focus on the exit. Mardaneus appears at the exit and ALL the critters die immediately and a portal appears that will take you back to Aleroth.
You don't get any of the XP for killing critters that way, you also lose out on 2000 bonus XP points and a reputation point as well.
It is not an elegant solution but it might get you past the crash. Also, getting out of the Catacombs is when you really get out into the game world so . . . my vote would be head for the exit, after the critters die . . go back and grab the loot and weapons and enjoy the rest of the game . . . patch should be here soon I hope. . .=)

as well as the random crashes for attacking things, in dark forest i'm having this issue, but i cannot continue because i cant get down stairs :[
