I've had the change to play the game for a few moment at my friends place, I really like the trailer when the game released.
But when I created my own character (wish was all fun on its own), I had to do some combat as tutorial.
I dont really remember much, but I do remember that I really didn't like it. It could be me, just not used to this kind of turn-based tactic combat system. Im really more of an Action RPG combat fan.
The RPG and story of the game, I will definitly enjoy. But I saw in the trailer it will be a pen and paper RPG, which I have never played before, It'll be an new experience.

So my question is: is it worth to buy it, as it is on sale? And will you get used to the combat?
The combat is "tactical rpg", turn based. The ruleset, the character stats appear to be based on CRPG pen and paper stats. What that means is that you have to apply your stats on level up to skills that the character you are building will use.
For instance a character that uses a bow, cross bow or dagger should have stats in dexterity. A two handed sword user will need strength stats to hold the heavy sword.
I have always liked tactical rpg's going back to Shining force 2 and Final Fantasy tactics.
You may prefer adventure RPG's(where you tap the buttons in realtime).
In Divinity original sin 1or 2 you must plan out your attack and use the environment to your advantage. For instance getting on high ground if you are an archer. Setting down oil to stop melee enemies from rushing you, then lighting the oil on fire. AP is how many points you have to use in doing attacks and moving.
You can play in 2-player split screen with 2 controllers plugged in at your friends house if you are undecided.

I think it is worth it, however only you can decide if you like it.
It's quite fun if you have someone to play Co op with.
For this price it is a great deal. It's very fun and I think it's better solo but that's just me, I do not like split screens or feeling like it's not my journey alone. Either way, I would totally get it.

Yeah, I really liked the idea but I am not used to it. like you said I'm more used to Adventure RPG, real time.
But I also enjoy gwent since closed beta (which in in my eyes is also kind of tactical), and civilization 5 (which is also turn-based)

Yeah, I've seen the trailer. co-op and spiltscreen. But I'm probably going to play it alone most of the time, since I dont' really have anyone to play with.

Great to hear that. Will be playing to solo probably too.

Thanks for all the replies! I think I'm going to buy it. I Also really wanted to buy because It's made in my City.

Be sure and play the Definitive Edition...;) Game ships with both the original and the Definitive edition. It doesn't replace the original version, but installs both versions side by side. Since you are coming late to the party--the Definitive Edition is the one to play. Once you get the hang of turn-based combat you will never go back, imo...;)

Yeah, I've bought the definitive edition. I've had some couple hours of fun put into it. The combat is neat, but it takes some time to get used too.

I may have misspoke, actually. On reflection I realized I bought the original version of the game long before the Definitive was released--so maybe it's only that category of customer who owns both versions of the game. It could be that Larian has allowed the Definitive to be the only version available going forward.

Great that you bought the game! You will not believe how much the turn-based nature of this game allows you to delve into the powers, spells and skills of each member of your party--it's the kind of thing an "action" RPG never allows you to do--get's you involved in a far deeper level. You can appreciate their individual professions much more completely--they don't seem like empty titles and superficial affectations.

When I bought D: OS1 I hadn't seen this kind of turn-based game before, and it took me awhile to get used to it and to grow into it. But once I did--I was hooked! Be patient--it will start to grow in you before you know it. D:OS 2 is a masterpiece, imo!

I really like all the small things that have an impact, and so many talents, perks, ... I've never played such a game before.
I'm playing co-op with someone from the community, and I'm having a blast. Not only the rpg elements are intriguing, but the story/sidestories are amazing as well
I stated playing DOS2 a week ago and highly recommended it. It's engrossing, combat is difficult (I'm playing on tactician mode) but that makes winning very rewarding. There are multiple ways to complete quests and move forward, skills and talents are difficult to choose from as they all add something! So it's not very "linear" and boring. I've played a lot of RPGs and love this game so far.
Just one thing I experienced that might be useful to know. it's about the graphics settings.

If when you change textures to high, if it's not already set to it. A message will say something like your system does not support the textures and can make your system unstable. That seems to be an incorrect message, as I changed to it anyway and kept playing for hours with no issue.

changed all everything to the highest settings, but didn't see that message tho.
played for 10hours with a friend, it runned very smooth for me.
