UhuruNUru: Now I've tried that link, and it's currently not got any manual online, but game release. and bug fixing inevitable issues should always be 1st priority, when everything you meed is in the games tutorials, and online user forums/wiki's always give best info.
I've also looked ar the collectors edition Manual, and it's the same as the digital one.
I attempted to point out above that the link provided in the game manual isn't working, but you may have missed that, I s'pose...;) The fact that the manual references an official company link to an online manual that
does not now exist--
yet--just underscores that Larian hasn't finished the manual yet--which is why the link exists, of course. I think Larian was wise not to finalize the manual until after the game shipped for all of the reasons they listed--better to harden the game's features and access *before* writing the manual as opposed writing it prematurely and then having to pen multi-page addendums, etc.--That's just sloppy, imo--confusing to players who need a manual to begin. So Larian tells us, by supplying an on-line link to an
upcoming complete manual, that it intends to release a
much better manual, accessible exclusively online--and shortly, too, imo, if I'm any judge.
Even that aspect of the game--merely the manual and its production & distribution--was well thought out. So refreshing to see human beings using their brains constructively these days--a real joy and a pleasure, imo! Everything about Larian *smacks* of brainpower applied and problems solved with a positive mindset. (Don't want to get *too* carried away about it. Enough of that--I'm getting off on a tangent..;))
Back on point, I just don't buy the argument that "all you need is in the tool tips"--because it isn't...;) Yes, ok, if you played the first D: OS like I did for hundreds of hours (great game, too, but 2 has it beat decisively), then tool tips are indeed certainly "all you need"--I can agree with you there! But that's *only* for someone who has invested a lot of time learning how to play the first D: OS. Someone wholly new to Original Sin as a game will definitely require an in-depth game manual in order to elucidate the finer points, key-board shortcuts, etc. and etc. Tool tips are just not enough for the new OS player. But, as they revealed in the deliberately skimpy shipping game manual, Larian knows it and is preparing to complete an adequate if not exhaustive official game manual, accessible online @ www.divinity.game/manual .
