I am wondering if GOG and Steam versions of DOS2 will be able to play with each other?

I'm asking because I prefer buying games on GOG but I was burned several times before by games that didn't let me play with my friends because I had a GOG version and they had a Steam version.

Yes, the game supports direct connectivity, which can be enabled in the Connectivity Menu.

The system is simple: your server generates a code which you share with your friends, and they connect to your server using that code. So DRM-less versions and DRM versions can in fact play together.

What about PC and Mac versions? Is the game also cross-platform?

Elandryl:
Just for the record: the steam version of DOS2 does not contain any DRM either. You can launch it directly instead of through the Steam launcher, and it won't start Steam or rely on you being signed in with Steam (or in offline mode).

Yes, it is.
