In the past you could download old versions of installers. I have forgotten to back the game up before the current release. I want to play the new version, but they apparently changed some voice actors and I would like to have my old installer as well. I cannot find an option to download the old installer - is it possible? If yes, how?

How to do it with Galaxy?

Just in case, I installed with the Final Cut offline installer and downgraded with Galaxy as I recommended, then made a separate installation with the 8487d973 offline installer: the game files are identical, as they should be.

I really appreciate your help, thanks. I did what you suggested, downloaded the new version and downgraded it. I tried copying the files from the temp folder, but I think I was too slow to pause after it hit 100% and I think not all files remained in the folder.

I copied what was left and I also copied the folder with the game afterwards, but I do not quite understand how to install the game later on with that game's copy - what did you compare with what? Do you have the old installer?

I wish I had known they would make some changes in the game. I thought they were only going to add extra content :(

Don't worry about the temp folder. Once the upgrade/downgrade is finished the game directory will contain the exact same files as those installed by the offline installer for the version you choose.

Since you can run the game from any copy (of the full folder) you want, perk of DRM free games, you can store that copy you make along with the rest of your offline installers. I recommend archiving it with compression software, not so much as to save space but to keep all the files contained there and making sure nothing happens to them by accident.

When you want to play again, extract the archive you made to any location you'd like and all that is needed to finish an "install" is making a shortcut to the main executable (Disco Elysium.exe) in your prefered location (Start menu, Desktop, or anywhere else).

You won't have an uninstall program that works, but to remove the game you just delete the new folder you created and the shortcut (plus the directory '\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\LocalLow\ZAUM Studio' if you don't want to keep the save games), that's all.

Oh, I thought that some registry entries would be necessary for the game to launch. That is good then! That is bad luck! They must've uploaded some hotfix to those problems so many people have been experiencing with the new version. In all of that I was lucky, as with the help of Links I have managed to install and back up the older version. The changed character voices are a bummer, I am yet to decide if I like them. As to Cuno's voice, I did not like the old one, the character was too much of a caricature to me with so many normal characters around, so at least this one may work out better for me.
I really liked old Klaasje's, Vicquemare's and Garte's voices.
I must stress that I appreciate the free update nonetheless and I will gladly replay the game with the new version, but I'd like to make sure I can also potentially replay the game in the version I know I enjoyed before.
