Good day,

bought this game because i read in several places that the more recent updates optimized it to a point where it's supposedly running well enough on older machines, also considering the current minimum requirements.

now i have a fresh windows 10 install on a lenovo x250 (intel hd5500, i5 2.3ghz, 8gb ram, ssd) and i don't feel like it's running very smoothly in addition to a very long startup time (which might be related to another bug that seems to be popping up in the forum?). now i've set all gfx options to the lowest setting possible, lowest resolution possible. am i missing something or were my expectations too high?

You use MSI Afterburner to test your performance? Check if something is 100% used but I think the Intel HD 5500 is to weak to play the game, try to lower the resolution.
Thanks a lot for your reply and suggestions. I've lowered the resolution to the minimum possible and installed MSI Afterburner.

During the ~5 minute bootup the gpu% is at around 60% and during gameplay it is hovering around and above 90%. So maybe you're right and the hardware actually isn't up to the task.

Did anyone actually have luck on lower specs with the "working class update"? It would seem the current minimum requirements maybe are a bit misleading.

Still gonna try a few more things, I'm open to any suggestions.

A little late, but I would wait for the complete version (Remastered/voice lines for everything/etc) before giving up. They may have further optimized the game and it might be more suitable for playing, on your system.

It's a really hilarious and beautiful game. Would be a shame if you couldn't get it functioning properly : /

I second this, but also try turning off AA, for me AA completely tanked the framerate... and lets face it with high enough res. it's not really needed.

Good idea! I might do that when it rereleases *supposedly* today :)
I've got similar laptop but with an intel UHD 620. I set up everything on low and I keep the same resolution as my desktop (1080p). I don't see any slowdowns (except that the game takes at least one minute to launch). I have noticed than using a lower resolution than my desktop was usually counterproductive. I have googled it and it seems to be because lower resolutions force the monitor to perform a scaling operation that creates lag.

yeah that's a thing in some games, always try to play at your monitors native resulotion, sometimes the performance is better than if you lower it.
