Is it just me or is the controller not working properly? You can't turn with the analog sticks while running straight ahead. So you can only either turn or walk. The D-pad works perfectly.
Mine only works with the analog sticks. It doesn't like the D-Pad at all. That, and the mappings are all over the place. The start button is quick turn, pressing in the right stick is the Start button... I can't make sense of it.
It's not just you.

I'm having a lot of trouble setting up my controller here, the game ignores the input of certain buttons.

I'll try adding the game's executable to Steam and see if the Steam Input solves the problem.

Edit: When I tried to launch the game via Steam to use the Steam Input, I got the message "Additional main memory needed", as other people have reported in other forum posts.

This game urgently needs an update fix for the controls.

I know that that is not helpful, but for me everything works fine.
I've tested the game on GOG Galaxy on a ROG Ally and also on the PC using both the Xbox Series and DualSense controllers. It also worked via steam without any modification to the Steam Input Configuration.

There is another topic for the memory issue that might be useful: at dino_crisis_series/not_starting_additional_memory_needed (I cannot post the link)

What I can tell is that it seems that it uses a Controller to Keyboard mapping and that might be wrongly mapped.
It would be really nice if Gog provided some kind of tool for changing the mapping for these DxInput controller mapped games (like DosBox uses Ctrl+F1 on DOS games).

For me the input is the following (DualSense):
5 - L1
6 - R1
8 - R2
4 - Triangle
3 - Square
2 - Circle
1 - X
9 - ShareButton
M - Option/start

F7 - disables bilinear filtering
F9 to quit the game

It doesnt accept the Analog Triggers (L3/R3) click as valid controls, and cannot remap controls for Up/Down/Left/Right

In the past I've used a key called Joy2Key and it worked for older titles. I hope this is still available as an option to remap the buttons.

Yeah, it's really gross actually. I can't get anything to work, despite the store page leading us to believe it should flawlessly recognize common controllers right from the start. Totally unacceptable.
I was having problems with it not reading my Xbox controller at all. When I told it to Run as Administrator then it worked perfectly afterwards. Dunno if that's helpful to the problem you're having or not.

I envy you, and I appreciate your input on this. Unfortunately, this does not work for my game.
A problem I am having is that when my wireless controller goes to sleep it will not, or can not, reconnect. If I tab out of the game I can connect again but when I tab back into the game the connection immediately shuts down.
I'm having an issue with opening the sub menu. I don't know what button it is but I have found mashing several face buttons gets it up. I feel like that's a bug with the input reading.

I play on Steam deck and got the same issue. The d-pad does not get recognized at all. However, when I map the left analog stick to the dpad through Steam Input (so that the dpad acts as the analog stick), I can use the dpad and turn while running.

I also found out that setting the stick response curve to "aggressive" in Steam Input kind of addresses the issue. This way it is possible to turn while running using the analog stick. However, it only works when the analog stick is in a very specific place betweet the two axis. It's still not ideal.
You can map controls easily with JoyToKey.

Yes I have the same problem. Works fine if I map dpad to joystick but I don't want to play with the dpad. You can't run and turn at the same time using the joystick it stops you dead in your tracks for some reason. Hopefully they fix this

I'm having this issue too. Every other button works, but using the default sub menu key (B on Xbox) seems to just function as an extra action key (A on Xbox). Haven't found a solution yet.
