Is there ANY way we can get the soundtrack added to the dig please?

Here you can find a wonderful source for all the great LucasArts soundtracks! I'm not quite sure how legal that site is. But it has been there for many, many years now and it seems that nobody attempted to take them down. I strongly hope Disney won't start a campaign against it anytime soon...

And regarding legality: A couple of years ago (at the end of 2004) I got contacted by LucasArts PR department. First of all, it was cool of them that it wasn't their legal department, but a very nice PR lady, Ronda Scott. Back then I still had a lot of Star Wars and Indiana Jones game soundtrack on my site as well. Anyway, she told me that the rights holder of those IPs (she couldn't exactly tell me who, but I assume RCA, Paramount or Sony... whoever possesses the rights to those franchises' soundtracks) contacted Lucasfilm's legal department to have them make me take down those soundtracks. Furthermore Ronda told me that they had no problem with me hosting all those other soundtracks, since those weren't external IPs, but LucasArts' own stuff and they were okay with it. So, that's that.

Thank you for sharing that piece of information! It's very interesting to know that LucasArts handled this case in such a friendly manner. I'm sure there're companies out there, who'd immediately send out their legion of lawers to protect their copyrighted material.
And of course thank you very much for hosting the music and keeping the site alive for such a long time!

If they let you host the music for these games, maybe GOG.com could convince Disney to let them include the OSTs for all these games officially - it'd certainly make it more convenient to have .zip files of all the MP3s directly from the source.

But that was over 10 years ago... before Disney. They might not be so forgiving ;)

True, but unless Disney is selling the OSTs, it'd be really cool to see all the material available on these fan sites from the different versions of the game to be amalgamated into one place (the official GOG.com release). Seeing all the different versions of the OSTs officially on GOG.com would be pretty snazzy and would make the offers that much more 'value-packed' :)

Also, considering Disney has made a concerted effort to release so much of the LucasArts catalogue so far, where LucasArts wasn't really doing that before, you never know what Disney might be willing to do.

Granted, for most of the games much better soundtrack rips have popped up online by now... I was just the first one to do them, and bandwidth was a real sucker back then, so the quality isn't the best. And for all we know, Disney might just shut down the site when it's brought to their attention.

But you're right, it would be great if it was as easy as asking them ;)

And hey, since this is the "Dig" sub-forum, I'll happily provide a lossless rip of my (original!) "The Dig" soundtrack CD, once the legal stuff is sorted out.

all I know is the Dig has my favorite soundtrack of all lucas arts adventure games. A lossless would be really nice to have.

I forgot how wonderful the music was!

There was an early demo version of The Dig, which had alternative music (demos I assume).
The tracks were easy to extract unlike the in game music from the main version.
Would be nice to also include those.
