I did some testing by turning on the FPS counter on for The Hell 2 and saw the following: whenever I used the Rouge's Identify skill (had it selected as the active spell and used it via right clicking the mouse) the FPS dropped to 20 and stayed there. XD
In the town it goes well over 100 (usually around 140 and the FPS limit in the config file is set to 1000) and it drops to about 50 in the dungeon, but the 20 isn't a regualir drop in FPS.
I can work around that by identifying items later or: identifying them, saving and relaunching the game, but I wanted to point it out, so the author is aware of the bug.
In case it matters, I picked 2 traits that increse regenration at the cost of lowered resistances (matabolism and Sruvivor ones, IIRC) and I'm playing on Easy mode and the first seconadry difficulty (Purgatory or what it's called - the one recommended for new characters).
It's freshly installed GOG copy of the game with the mod installed into the game folder directly, so it's not some old character port gone wrong or an old setting messing with the game.
So far that's my only real problem with the mod, but I'd like to see this resolved if possible since the faster paced gameplay is a huge plus with Diablo 1.
