Linny: "nerf lava golems stunlock op"

balynn: Oh man I forgot about that.

Can't get to these succubus to melee them, nerf succubus.
Reminds me: protip to all new players. make sure you acquire a book of teleport, even, hell, *especially* if you're a warrior. since warriors suck at magic, keep ahold of items with good +magic on them and put them on long enough to read the spellbook.

unless you enjoy long nights of chasing succubi literally from one side of hell to the other.

Unfortunately, chasing Succubi to the ends of hell, is just how the Warrior plays. You're more supposed to back them into a corner, since Hell is so wide and open it shouldn't be too difficult, but you can also lure them aronud a corner. They typically like you follow you if you wander too far from them after they aggro to you. IMO, if you need spells, or ranged attacks to kill Succubi as a Warrior, you're donig it wrong.
Only Spells the Warrior actually needs is Town Portal. There IS an argument to be made that he needs the Healing spell, but IMO, potions and scrolls are supposed to do that, it's just a waste of mana for an interruptable heal.

Also no patch has nerfed drop rates of anything, outside of the original 9-ish patches the game recieved. That's just RNG. I've gotten a Warrior's Bastard Sword in Level 5 from a Unique and I've also had times where it takes me until level 4 to even get a single magic item.

I also forgot to mention, the map generation, is more or less just like Diablo 3.

It's not so much a generation of the maps, as it just chooses from a large pool of pre-made maps at random.

You have to be careful not to level it up too high either, else it becomes unusable (not enough mana).

The maps aren't pre-made at all, they're completely generated (except for small preset quest-related sections).

Yup. Playing as a Warrior is a bit of a balancing act when it comes to spells. I mainly only get 1 level of Healing.
Bonehead keenaxe has always spawned in dungeon lvl 2 as far as I know. Not as "he's always there", but as in, "if he's going to be anywhere in your game, then it will be in lvl 2".

Most (all?) of the unique monsters are like that, including some that never spawn because their designated level can't spawn their monster type.
