I'm specifically looking for mods that improve the quality of life while playing. Things like having a stash so you don't have to dump everything out in the field, easier stacking gold or potions, stuff like that. I'm not looking for tons of extra content or anything that severely alters the balance of the game, just some modern conveniences.

Further down the list there is a thread titled "Ulmo's Stash." You will find the information there on how to download it and what to do to get it working. The stash allows you to store items and gold as well as transfer them between your various characters.

Not in Diablo but in Hellfire there is the magic spell "Search" which highlights items on the ground. Search is the class skill for the Monk but other classes train Search just loike any other magic spell. Also there are Scrolls of Search which have no requirements for use and can be purchased from Adria or drop from monsters.

In Blizzard's later games highlighting became a part of the UI so it would seem from Diablo they learned just how desireable it is.
