Hello, I bought the game now, I installed it, but when I try to open HELLFIRE Expasion (Only happens with Hellfire, the others work) I can not because its closes, it shows the black screen and it just closes, there is no dialog box that crashed or anything, it just closes itself and back on the desktop screen. I have already repaired the game in GOG Galaxy, but without success. Can anybody help me?

You have to disable DEP.
GoG forgot to apply the DEP patch that they used for Diablo to the Hellfire expansion...

Those instructions are wrong.
For 64-bit versions of windows the "default setting" for DEP is that it applies to ALL programs.
Changing that setting requires a full reboot before it will take effect.

I tried, but doenst work, i had send a ticket for support, im waiting for it, if it helps, i will send the solution right here for people who also need it

Has there been any update on this? I just bought this yesterday and I am suffering the same problem. I have added both Diablo and Hellfire to the list under the DEP settings. I rebooted and it still will not launch. It will black screen then go back to the desktop view.

Anything I can do for this?

Hey, Not sure what happened but I had simialr problem aswell. Now it works just fine.

Im runnin windows 10, GTX 1080, et cetra.

Didn't enable/install anything fancy, just rebooted the computer, and the base game works just fine now.

As for Hellfire, i was wbeing stuck with was "unable to properly initialize your video card using DirectX" Error,
but i just found a workaround: just boot it directly instead to using launcher.

1.Open the Installation folder (Right click->Manage Installation-> Show Folder, for Galaxy users)
2.Open hellfire folder.
3.run hellfire.exe directly.
4.intro and everything plays fine.

As an alternative that doesn't require disabling security features in Windows DevilutionX 1.2.1 is now out with hellfire support and some 90 bug-fixes for original game issues, hope its helpful :)
