There is no footsteps sound for my charracter in Hellfire.
In vanilla Diablo the sound is there.
It's a fresh install.

Footstep sounds just got turned off in expansion vdue to "run" option. That's normal.

Anybody knows if any of the mods plan to rectify or already have addressed the issue of the missing footstep sound with "Walk" enabled? Thanks.

Regarding mods: The thing is that the faithful mods (devilution and devilutionX) do not support Hellfire at all.

DevilutionX now supports Hellfire as well :)

Here you go. Navigate to the Hellfire folder with v1.02.A4 set up in it, open cowquestON.dat with a plain text editor, and copy and paste the following in an empty area at the bottom of the file:

Credit goes to Desert Dragon, who originally wrote this fix for The Hell. Since this is fresh off the anvil, I have not had time to test it extensively and cannot guarantee it won't cause any issues, but it seems to work just fine.
