I have, somewhere, the dead tree manual that came with Diablo II. One of the interesting things in it is builds for the various character classes. One of the builds for the Druid is called the Tank: you start off with Werewolf and Lycanthropy but switch over to Werebear as soon as you can. I tried it, but didn't like it because that bear is just Too Darn Slow! Instead, I came up with what I call the Light Tank. It starts out the same, but it sticks with the wolf, three summoned wolves (as many as you can get) and Oak Spirit. The most important thing, however, is Rabies because it's a great crowd control spell.
For those who aren't familiar with it, Rabies damages like a poison, but it's also a disease, and highly contagious. If you're being attacked by a mob of undead, being raised by a shaman, one hit with Rabies will infect whatever you connect with. Then, for the next several rounds, it will infect everybody in contact with that first target and so-on until it reaches the back of the mob and starts back. As you're continuing to use the spell, you end up with several waves going back and forth, killing those undead far faster than they can be raised. I hope that some of you will try it next time you have a werewolf in action.
