This is literally just Diablo 1 with nothing apparently any different...Thought I was getting some higher res support...I was wrong apparently. I would not have given you 10 dollars for this if I had known it's literally the exact same game I've already bought numerous copies of in the past.

Yep, I saw "hi-res" and thought they put in an official "mod" for zoomed out/high resolution. The store page is VERY misleading in that regard. I feel like I was lied to. Playing an Atari game on my 4k TV does not make it "hi-res". It's still garbage resoltion scaled up to fit my 4k display.

They have since updated the store page, but here is the original text:

Exactly, super misleading...I was expecting 1920/1080 support...not a small window with the same resolution and a black border.

it's funny because this beexzlebub mod gives me exactly what i expected from a larger company like GOG.

Toobad this mod adds a bunch of crap I don't want to the game. Literally just want the vanilla experience with the QOL changes Beezlebub offers.

You can ask support for a refund. Since your complaint does not fall into one of the categories where a refund is nearly guaranteed (mostly, that you tried to play on a supported platform; that the game was severely broken; and that GOG Support couldn't get it to work), they may refuse your request. Being dissatisfied with the purchase is not a category for which a refund is promised. There's no harm in asking though, especially if you can present a convincing case that the store page is substantially misleading about what you get.

Well I mean it's right here in the store description.

For those wanting something a bit more modern, Blizzard and GOG.COM have collaborated on an updated version of the game tuned for today’s gaming PCs, which includes out-of-the-box Windows 10 compatibility, a host of bug fixes and high-resolution support.
I was disappointed by the "high res" support as well. Still, I really payed $10 so I don't have to take it out of the box to play it anymore. If they can clarify what they meant by "high res" support, and maybe add actual wide screens resolutions that would be great; assuming the engine is even capable.

It is possible!

The Beezlebub mod does it just fine...But there are a lot of changes....I can't upload a picture but the mod is easy enough to install...check it out here: https://diablo-hd-belzebub.en.uptodown.com/windows
You guys may want to check out the Diablo 1 HD Mod, which does what you guys were actually expecting and lets you increase the overall view area not just scale up the same sized window, adds QOL improvements, new enemies, quests, etc

Google for Diablo 1 HD Mod Belzebub

Except Beezlebub changes the game immensely and is a far cry from vanilla.

Doesn't really change the fact the GOG took my money and didn't deliver.

Hmm. I can see a visual difference between the updated version of Diablo and my disc version. Maybe it's just my particular computer that has an updated version?

Also I keep seeing people say they can get this game free? This is the first time it's been released digitally legally. Not sure where you'd get it free legally.
Oh yes, we need something like the Belzebub mod.

Guess I will just install the mod and play from there.

It's abandonware.

it's been on this site for ages. Regardless of legality Blizz didn't care apparently. That may change now with the GOG release.

*removed abandonware link*

The Diablo series has never been abandoned and by logic could never be abandonware. Your link is also against TOS.
