Hello all. Anybody playing D2R since it's launch last Thursday? I interested in hearing you experiences and opinions on it, if you're willing to share. Thanks in advance!
I am playing it. So far, I'm enjoying it, but it does connect to battle.net on launch, despite them saying there would be a dedicated offline mode.

The upgrades are mostly aesthetic, with a few QoL changes like a bigger stash and shared stash. For $40, you could do a lot worse than this game.
I'm also curious on how's D2R is doing. How's the AI for the mercenaries and the summons? Did it improved or is it the same as D2?
Mercenary AI seems better unless your merc gets caught on the terrain, which seems to happen more often than in Legacy. They seem to stay alive longer now, too.
Thank for the info CymTyr! I'll be keeping an eye on this game!

Every day ALL day. I have four characters going and I'm severely lacking in sleep.
Coincidentally enough, the same thing happened 20 years ago when I bought the original.

Of course, I'm much better at it now.

It has DRM. If you don't mind that, I highly recommend it. It has things like controller support, improved cutscenes, and expanded/shared stash. There are also accessibility options - like larger text, and text to speech.

The QOL changes are really awesome. I love the controller support, though I don't use it all the time.

Weird how that works huh? I've been gaming a boatload since it came out, as well. Went from gaming an hour a day to gaming 5 hours a day. My body is wondering wtf is happening. lol.

Well what I meant was 20 years ago, I had no idea what I was doing, wasting skill points, approaching bosses wrong. With this, I started out of the gate already know how to build what, what skills work best, what gear works with what skills, etc etc etc
How about old bugs in D2? Have they been fixed? Like getting stun locked (read paralyzed) when being repeatedly charged by Claw Vipers and Reanimated hordes?

XD
You might appreciate this, someone in the Blizzard forum just complained that the skill system in D2 was too simple compared to the one in D3. I told him he must have games confused with each other.

I love it too! Did you know that you can quickly give your mercenary potions by holding LT+ one of the direction buttons? The help option that shows the control scheme doesn't mention this for some reason.

That's awesome! I was trying to figure out how to do that on the controller. Thanks!
