For those that don't know there's a mod, to put it simply, for playing Diablo 1 in higher resolutions along with interface improvements and adding some other things like skills, spells, items and even a few new classes..

Does Tchernobog also require Hellfire, or does it extend only the base game? I'm asking because Diablo[GOG] isn't bundled with Hellfire.

Diablo 1 HD mod blzebub modify the gameplay. It's not the gameplay of diablo 1 but a mix of diablo 2 and 1 gameplay.
No save everywhere, respawn, etc

If you want only to play at diablo 1 in HD, this mod is not the good.

Which mod (working with GOG version) would you advice ?

i agree, it changes a lot of the game, like even the iconic Butcher fight is different. for new players that never tried Diablo 1, just play vanilla (it's not a very long game), then after you beat it go crazy with mods.

I've got bezelbub as I felt forced to to use my old copy of the game, but the changes suck some more than others, but few are welcome other than the HD aspect to run on new hardware. I would avoid it at all costs if you really want to play Diablo as it was intended, do it after if you're bored and want to try a very modified adventure.

I I have searched mods to add features for diablo 1 without modify the gameplay (I prefer gameplay of diablo 1 more than gameplay of diablo 2) and I have never found.

I would like a diablo 1 to add new game + withtout modify the gameplay.

I love the gameplay of diablo 1 because it's more a rpg game with slow game, no respawn (I hate respawn), possibility to put objects in the floor without be afraid to lost them, save ervywhere (I hate the save system in diablo 2 and all dialo like since diablo 2).

At the start, diablo 1 must be a rpg game in tunr by turn. It's just after the relase of battle.net that diablo was the hack'nshlash in real time but diablo 1 has kept some elements of rpg and I love for these elements. Diablo 2 has modified the formule.


My dream would be new diablo-like with the gameplay of diablo 1 but it's impossible since diablo 2 and his success. Now, all diablo like have only copied features of diablo 2.

I really love the "horror/adventure/RPG" feeling of the first Diablo. Never been hooked with the second... the first has really an awesome atmosphere !

no, Hellfire is not needed
you just need to unpack mod, put DIABDAT.MPQ in it and you're ready to go.

Hi is it possible to unlock the dx build included to 60 fps or is the hell mod fine for first time playing diablo, i prefer to play in 60 fps.
