Hi to all,
Diablo 1 was originally available for Mac OS. Is there any possibility of having Diablo 1 for Mac OS X running in gog.com? Thanks in advance!
Kind regards
GOG is dropping support for all 32bit games on Mac due to MacOS going 64bit only. Use Wine or Bootcamp.

That is odd, Warcraft 1 runs smoothly on my Mac OS X (64 bit), granted by DOS BOX... I hope Diablo 1 can be played on Mac

faosorios:
DOSBox now has a 64bit version.

I forgot about DevilutionX since it did not exist when I last played the game.
Make sure to check out DevilutionX - 100%.

Now, another option, if you have a quad core processor - would be to set up a (windows XP) virtual machine and run Diablo on that. Thats what I personally did back when my main computer was a 2012 Macbook Pro with OSX 10.7. I still use the same virtual machine to this day and am unlikely to bother switching unless I am faced with a compelling reason. The virtual machine route allows you to have increased security and a longevity due to the benefits of encapsulation.

Warcraft 1 was a DOS game, so any platform that can run DOSBox can run Warcraft 1. Diablo was a Windows game and a Classic Mac OS game. A long time ago, OS X abandoned the ability to run programs made for Classic Mac OS. OS X can run Windows games through Wine, but only if the game, and Wine, and OS X are all the same bitness. OS X 64-bit had the ability to run 32-bit programs, but this was recently abandoned. Diablo for Windows was only ever a 32-bit Windows program, so you need a system that can run 32-bit Wine to use Diablo for Windows. Current 64-bit Windows can still run 32-bit Windows programs. Most Linux distributions also have the ability to run 32-bit Wine, and thus can run Diablo.

As reverse-engineered source ports, Devilution / DevilutionX can be built to run on any platform their authors care to support, which is why you can use those on modern OS X.
I got hellfire working using porting kit from portingkit.com/game/1068

Once installed, Diablo should show up in your Porting Kit Library as well as under your Applications folder
(OR in ~/Applications/Games/Diablo.app)

I could NOT get Porting Kit to launch Hellfire (Or the Launcher) by doing the below:
Select Diablo -> More -> Properties
Then click Browse on the "Run:"
Browse to "C:\GOG Games\Diablo\dx\DiabloLauncher.exe"

So, I did this:
Go to your Applications Folder

Right-click on Diablo.app and "Show package content"
Launch Wineskin.app
Click Advanced
Then click Browse on the "Windows EXE"
Browse to "C:\GOG Games\Diablo\dx\DiabloLauncher.exe"
DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE
Close Wineskin.app

Launch Diablo.app and be a little patient.
The menu's are a little buggy, but it works great apart from that.

I have a new mac and I tried to install any part of the Diablo game, but they just didn't run. I have no idea why. I tried to do it through the Wine Bottler app, but nothing worked. Now, I have to use my old HP laptop to play Diablo, which still can run those games. Recently, I found out that on yes gamers it is possible to buy some rare runes. I hope that my old laptop will be able to run this game with some additional stuff installed. Otherwise, I have to find a way to install it on Mac OS or forget about all three parts at all.
I have a MacBook Pro 2.3GHz 8-Core Processor with 1TB Storage

With the limited information you provided, we can only guess. However, the most likely explanation, based on what you wrote, is the one above in the thread: current OS X has lost the ability to run 32-bit programs, which includes Diablo and Hellfire. You can use DevilutionX, or switch to an operating system with better backward compatibility.
hellfire support is around 2% from being done in devilutionx :)

I updated the port. Port will now launch in the launcher by default.
1.2.1 is now out with Hellfire support.

Since I do not own a Mac with Apple's new CPU I haven't been able to test it there yet and reportedly it does require the application to be signed.

But another Mac user has been helpful in building the latest release for the M1 so if you have a recent Mac you can get a native build here:

Halve fun :)
