(Not sure where else to post this.) I've gotten Diablo 2 to run on my 2018 desktop PC and, while it runs great, my only concern is that it runs somewhat quickly on these modern processors. I can handle the game at the beginning when it is very easy, but I'm concerned that later foes might be too difficult to deal with.

Does anyone know a way to slow the speed of an old Windows game like Diablo 2?

Hope this is a joke but it should run exactly as fast as in the old days, if cpu speed affected the game speed, it'd be a serious issue and blizzard would've released a fix over a decade ago

If you're convinced that Diablo 2 is running faster for some reason, the only fix is to patch it. It's not cpu bound so this shouldn't be the case.

If you're used to Diablo 1 gameplay, be aware Diablo 2 is much faster paced all around.

This is true for older games. Faster CPU meant the game's speed would increase to an unplayable level. However, this is not something that applies to Diablo 2. This speed problem was around in the 80's to mid 90's. When D2 came around the issue was dead an buried. D2 in general is a pretty fast paced game. If the game is running so fast that it is unplayable, it is a problem specific to your rig.
