I like the Mod,but Mordor is a pretty strange Guy based on what i saw and read in Silence due the Years i follow the Mod.
But i always try to seperate an ''artist'' from his Creation.

I recently wanted to play the Mod again and saw it was removed from Moddb,pretty Bad decision i think.
And the Reasons why he did it are even more weird,never experienced slow Downloads or too much ads on Moddb.
Funny thing is,on Google it took way longer lol.
Dont know but the Way all this Stuff goes isnt my Kind of Thing anymore.
Probably Patreon has alot to do with it.

I'm really questioning that decision to remove it from moddb because only the "original sound files" (note: songs he took from free sources) took forever to download.

As for Mordor, i do not care what people say about him, i do not look a threads about him, because as someone said above, you can make a separation between artist and creation (and right now i am enjoying the creation not marrying the artist ffs :)))))) ).

P.S. Pretending to know things about random people like me, just because i said i enjoy a mod is a bit out of space but hey, who knows, maybe you live like a ghost in my house or something :)))) . Jokes aside, i will repeat myself about how things really are:
I like the mod, i have some friends that also do. It is our opinion and no matter how much you try, you can't force your own opinion on others. But you have a issue accepting some people enjoy what you don't .

Lol, snowflake. You're really bad at arguing and handling people who disagree with you. Yea, I have because you still show me you have little or no experience with the mod especially its IM modes, and I doubt you tried the other shitty, broken classes. None of the people who used Mage liked how Mordor nerfed them. Playing all 3 Summoner classes, Beastmaster is total, incomplete shite (again, even Mordor admitted BM is trash when he died 50+ times on Level 1 Hard Mode). And again, Bombardier feels very incomplete when her special skill is Identify objects, yet identify scrollls drop for her (Wtf? Seriously?).

How can you try to "reply on point" if you neither refute his arguments nor make sound ones yourself?

You can throw money at things you like, but the issue still stands: why are you trying to engage in a discussion if you lack the proper skills to do so in the first place?

For what little the Hell 2 I played I can agree to some of his points:
- Level design: being greeted by ~25+ enemies - a boss with his minions and random trash - just after setting foot into the 1st level is garbage design for a lack of a better word
- Feature creep: way too many classes and sub-classes for all of them to be playable and balanced
- Perk system: lack of UX, because I have to manually scroll through the complete list of perks to see the current levels of my spent perks
- Combat text: last time I played the scrolling floaters for resource cost couldn't be turned off without turning off combat text completely

While i do agree with the flaws that the mod has, there was a single thing i said since my first post, that being the fact that i actually enjoy playing this mod. I wasn't even trying to engage in a discussion, but i guess i got caught up in one the due to the assumptions ChildofPit made about me (and yes, i guess you are right about the "reply on point", my bad on that choice of words...).
The only thing i did wanted to point at was that i like the mod and others do as well. Yes, flawed as it is, i do like it and i did not understand the hate for it (if i don't like something, then i don't play it, simple as that, especially when it is free, but hey, that's just me i suppose).
All in all, as flawed or hated as this mod is, i still believe it's worth a try because some will actually realise they enjoy it (for me it is the hell 2 and belzbub mod that made me come back and play Diablo countless hours).

Interesting. Separating creator from creation is a curious concept. Quite a healthy mindset. On the other hand, the maker makes decisions about the creation and can alter it. And creation reflects the soul of its maker. There is a connection. Cause. And effect.

A few words about hatred here. It may seem as negative, but it's in fact a positive indicator. Fact wide known : the opposite of love is not hatred. It's indifference. People are so active here, chasing me and trying to tell me how they hate The Hell 2, talking to each other. Sometimes demonstrating decent knowledge of the mod's mechanics. This means they are fans. And they like TH2 so much, that when I can't do something or do something they disagree with - they fall into rage. That's quite telling.

One of the coders in my team told me once about a quote he heard concerning programming languages. "there are 2 types. Those that everybody hates, and those that nobody cares about".

The amount of attention towards a game or mod directly corresponds to how much it's praised or hated. Two sides of the same coin. If a game is indeed bad, people don't play it. If it's good, it's both loved and hated at the same time. Look at some big games in this genre like upcoming Diablo 4, the old (now) Diablo 3, Dark Souls, Torchlight, PoE. How much rage, hatred and disapproval these games caused. But people keep playing them. On a small magnitude, but same is happening here with The Hell 2. I see a lot of criticism. On streams when people play TH2, on discord when they discuss it or criticise my decisions or (this might shock you - beware!) approve of my decisions. Take a step into twitch, it's often played there, google some of it in youtube. It's full of TH2 videos. Hell, evem this topic brought me a couple of patrons, writing here and bumping this thread does make it appear in google i guess and it attraacts a little more attention. Do I have to thank my haters at this point? If this is what this so called hate brings, well sign me up for more : )

You get butthurt from any ounce of criticism, and delete comments that offer feedback. You act like a self-absorbed prick. Those things cause people to mock you, even post up your source code. Those things resulted in your mixed if not infamous reputation. How about you eat some humble pie for once in your life, and get your head out of your ass? I don't think you know what a fan means, Mordor (your delusion and ego sure are something). If the bacon is overcooked, I'm not a fan of overcooked bacon. The overcooked bacon still sucks. Btw, we don't care if you keep shooting yourself in the foot like the time you got someone to post your source code (some people got a laugh out of that). When you shoot yourself in the foot, it's more laughs for everyone else. Btw, what's it like knowing you suck at playing your own classes like shitty, trash as fuck Beastmaster? I was laughing seeing you die a bunch of times on a non-Iron Man mode. Don't flatter yourself comparing your trash mod to polished games like Dark Souls, Torchlight, and PoE. It seems like you're twisting things around (It's a mod based off an established game. Get a reality check). People loved the map change because finding objects to break in the caves and bug zones was a nightmare in the Iron Man modes. Nobody liked the Mage nerfs, but when people brought this up you got pissy as usual. Sounds like you just keep ass kissers on your discord, and probably boot/ban anyone who wants to see the Hell 2 improve. You have more youtubers dropping Hell 2 more than keep playing it.

Edit: Seems like you actually updated Summoners past 1.0543 (noticed it after I made this post). I'll give it a whirl to see what the tier 3 BM pet is like.

I thought I said it to you a bunch of times, but I don't care if you like a shitty mod. It's like p said, you didn't even bother to engage or counter anything I said about why I thought the mod is garbage. You kept running away acting like a triggered snowflake, and got more upset with each reply. You really don't have the skills to handle discussions (you're in for a rough trip out of the internet if what I did triggered you). You're just as Mordor handling any feeddback and criticism.

I played this when it first came out, and many of its successors like Titan Quest, Divine Divinity, Torchlight, etc. As the game goes on, I found that inventory management became a nightmare, and in this game in particular, I would have loot laid all around a safe spot so I could sell it later. Sooner or later I could spend more hours sorting and selling loot than playing. Super-common in this type of game -- which is why inventory expansion was ALWAYS KEPT to the expansion. They KNEW they gave you nowhere near enough inventory, which forced you to buy an expansion.

And/or make a Horadric cube or spend god knows how many hours switching back and forth between shared stashes, whatever.

My question: the inventory improvement here seems like a joke. Does this work with other "trainers" or whatever add-ons that will let you have some serious pages or savable/reloadable inventories so you don't have to face space shortages, or throw out good set pieces and other great things you'll never see again?

it doesn't work in ironman or nightmare modes because it defeats the purpose there, but in normal game you got more than you probably will need, even if you play for years

thank you for making such an amazing mod, i have not played it yet however i have it installed and once i have time i will play it, I do have a question though, if you start on normal difficulty and finish the game, are you then able to restart the game in the next difficulty with that same character?

yes, you can restart on any difficulty. playing 1st difficulty shows very little here.
Normal mode end boss will finish game and play cinematics on 1st difficulty. just like in original game. but on higher difficulty modes it will give you items, experience and will not end the game.

playing over can be beneficial now because we added socketing, and farming goes on pretty much forever if you wish it.

ok so i can finish the game in normal then go onto hard and then repeat then ironman and then nightmare ? what about the horror, purgatory and doom difficulties , am i able to do the same method?
i have installed it and love that you have FXAA and bloom effects , will you be adding a zoom in feature like with mouse scroll ?? sometimes its nice to just see certain parts of the game up close...
