.Astral.: GOG hosts the global (as far as i know) blizzard hosts USEAST / USWEST / EUROPE
funny thing is blizzards servers were not working for a year, and then after gog announced they would offer hellfire all the sudden the old blizzard servers started working again.... I just wish we had a stable platform all users could use to play on.
ArturusRex: If the old blizzard servers are working, surely we can swap out the gateway info in the registry to access them instead? I found a bunch of server listings from the other posts, which seem identical to those planted in the registry of my computer where I have my CD copy installed (which won't run without the Beelzebub mod), but those complain that I need to update my Battle.net version. When you say the old blizzard servers started working again, are you referring to D2, or what?
Also, while I'm at it - the store page has wallpapers among the "goodies", but I can't seem to find where they are. Anyone know, or was their non-inclusion that an oversight?
the original Blizzard gateways: US West, US East, Europe, Asia accept Diablo 1, Warcraft 2, Diablo 2, Warcraft 3, and Starcraft 1. There was a brief period of time when D1 and WC2 were no longer being accepted by them, from mid 2018 to the launch of the GoG versions. After the GoG launch, the D1 and WC2 clients started being accepted again by the original gateways.
The original cd versions can be used to log into both the classic gateways and the GoG gateway.
However, the GoG version is inferior in that it can only be used to log into the GoG gateway; it gets rejected by the original four.
If you don't have an original cd, you can go ahead and pirate an iso of it; and you won't have to feel guilty as you've technically paid for the game already.
