I'm feeling the urge to play DX1 for the first time in a couple of years and I need inspiration. I've been playing this game every few years since it came out and I often tend to fall back on old routines, specifically stealthy melee non-lethal take downs.Yeah, I even cattle prod the MIBs, even though I do not feel any moral pressure on not killing them. In the 20 or so times I've played the game, not once have I ever entered Lady Liberty from the main enterance.
I was thinking I'm going to play the game like a cold-hearted killing machine for once. Anything between me and the objective goes down, no risky stealth maneuvers that no sane person would attempt in the real world (ie leaving guards alive only because you know the small windows of opportunity after much repetition).
What are your favourite playstyles? I know stealthy snipers have always been popular. Melee is stupidly overpowered some 15 minutes into Hong Kong and is of course another classic playstyle. I never really enjoyed playing as a hacker, though I wouldn't call it so much a playstyle because the uses are not as universal as an actual weapon.
I like my heroes to be gritty dudes with shotguns and knives (including thrown knives), but JCD doesn't exactly fit into that role too convincingly. The stealth pistol or silenced sniper rifle seem more appropriate as signature weapons for him. Now that I think about it, pepper spray, gas grenades and swift baton strikes make for one of my favourite playstyles in DX1. "Keep them. those things save lives."
