I happened to notice that the Steam version of Revision was updated to 1.7.

Currently, GOG is running 1.6.1.

Any chance this will be updated soon? It seems to include the Lay D Denton mod, so this isn't some minor update.
Yeah, would be interesting to know!
It's v1.6.3 right now on gog.
So, is there hypothetically preventing someone from going to the release website of Deus Ex Revision and downloading it that way?

Last I checked, only v1.6.3 is available on the website. I'd take a second look, but the website seems busted right now.
Is Patch 1.7.1 for Revision coming to GOG?
Version 1.7.2 has been released some weeks ago but of course nothing changed for us poor GOG people yet. :(
yeah, 1.7 has fixed a few bugs, can we please get a gog update to this?

Not going to happen. The devs of Revision have abandoned GOG. The mod should be removed from the store because of this imo.

As of now, the website is still nonfunctional.

I have another issue, too. I was enjoying the game (version 1.4.5, I think it was) and then, hubristically, I applied a couple of hotpatches to reach v1.6. Subsequently, the game complained at startup with two missing files that didn't seem to have any immediate effect … but then I reached a point of no further progress. No input changed the screen. (I have rescued the hostage from the service station, but approaching the helicopter crashed the game but left the screen active, so as to display the mooks wandering up and down in their patrols.)

I tried reinstalling the mod, then the base game, but the Gog installer complains that I have a later version installed. (Which I had already removed.)

In the meantime I am playing GMDX.

I agree, they even confirmed it: https://twitter.com/CausticCreative/status/653984865776476160

They deserve to not be taken in consideration at all.

GMDX should be "official" here (since this, unlike some other, isn't an exclusive)

Wait, so can the GOG Patch make Revision work without Galaxy going?

According to the description: yes. I can't confirm it right now though as I have Deus Ex not installed at the moment.

Interesting. I have Deus Ex GOTY and also IW from Retail and Steam - I could check those out.

If Deus Ex 1 and IW ever goes on sale on GOG again dirt-cheap - and yeah, it often does - maybe I'll just grab them from here, since they often are $1 on Steam in sales.

I'd love to have Revision basically DRM-FREE and away from Steam, for obvious DRM-FREE purposes.

Plus, IW's such a pain to get going anyways from Steam anyways; been meaning to see if GOG or anyone fixed that version of IW here.
Nice! :o

But is it legit? I don't think so, otherwise why it's not on their website or moddb?
