I was playing GOTY edition with Kentie's launcher and direct3d10 rendering and the lighting suddenly became extremely oversaturated in dark areas. I've tried reinstalling the game on both steam and GOG, installing New Vision, using openGL and changing graphics settings in-game but nothing seems to fix the problem. What caused this and how do I fix it?

I don't know if you ever found a solution, but I used this when I had the same problem:

As I note you have not marked a solution yet, the "Deus Ex Community Patch" (that comes with the "Confix" and Transcended" Mod's as extras, among other things) also fixes the brightness problem:

It's definitely overkill for what you're asking for, but it works for that and fixes a lot of other things at the same time.

Update 14/AUG/21:

If you use the Direct3D 10 renderer supplied with this Mod': the HDR Brightness Fix by "Veronika" is already included. :D
