Appreciate the info, I am curious whether they implemented the consumables so that starting a new save means you get them again or if it worked like it did on the steam version, that the 'bought' consumables are gone for good once used once.

It was pretty sleazy to put one time use consumables & micro-transactions into a single player game... I would be pleased to know if that now isn't the case since there isn't a cash shop any longer.

I'm having the same issue with offline installer.

I did install both the game and the Season Pass DLC successfully

Regular game is working but every dlc story says "unkown" and I can't play them, the dlc storage is missing and i can't change to classic outfit too

I did reinstall the dlc multiple times and even redownloaded it but its the same result

please GoG help us

I suspect you are gonna have to contact their tech support for this, I don't think they usually actively monitor forum threads.

Mark when you say you got all the dlc to work, how did you install it? Through galaxy or though the offline installers? Did you use any compatibility options when you launched the game? Did you ever have the steam version installed? Or do you have it installed currently?

I didn't say I got all the dlc dyscode did. I'm someone who is trying to figure if the dlc is working before I decide to buy it.

It sounds like getting things working the way they are supposed to be seems more of an uphill struggle than many expected. I've been asking questions about whether the one time use items aren't restricted to literally only use once per purchase of the game as they were in the steam release (to encourage you to buy more from their in-game cash shop).
The fact the cash shop is rumoured to be gone at least makes me feel like there is a chance they might have fixed that for the GOG release.

The weapons, coats and the Assembler-aug def. gets carried over between saves. Since you don't seem to be getting anything more in the GOG-Version, I guess that's it.

Wow so the Praxis kits, ammo & in-game cash really are use once and when they are gone, they are gone for good items even in the GOG version. That is kind of disappointing, I had hoped they had implemented it the same way they did with the dlc packs when they released HR Directors cut and the stuff was just available for you every time you started a new game.

If it's really DRM free there can't be a limitation. Since the game is not bound to any account, how could be checked if the items have been already used? If the items aren't available for a second new game, this information must be stored in a local file. And this can be removed, replaced or edited.

Unless it is coded to set the information to some central server that stores it. That is something Galaxy doesn't even have to facilitate as any game can open up a external connection unless blocked by a firewall.
The problem is this game uses a modified in-house engine originally developed by IO Interactive before they split from Eidos so knowing exactly what any of it is doing is a bit of a head scratcher.
It would be nice if GOG clarified things as they state the consumables (like the Praxis kits on the base game page) are available on their store pages.

Yes, but that would mean there's a server which is able to identify you and your version of the game.
And that wouldn't be DRM free as promised ;)

Not neccessarily if the "one time use" is hardcoded in the item itself.

You can test that for yourself, just "get off the grid" (disconnect from your WiFi, unplug your ethernet cable etc.) and use the item ... if it can't be used in any way than there maybe is a server check for the item, but if it can be used than the "one time use" is - like mentioned above - hardcoded in the item itself.

It is possible to uniquely identify a machine via hardware ID of components, it is the way Windows checks if you have a valid license even without an account on a remote server

If it is hardcoded into the item that it can be only used once, the fact it has been used must be stored somewhere either locally in the registry, in some file on your computer or some hidden place (or even possibly encrypted) or stored somewhere not on your computer.

It has to be local or remote storage, as Eidos hasn't mastered sorcery yet AFIK

It does feel like something that GOG should be a little clearer on for customers though.

There are way to many games that use "one time use"-only items; for example every other xRPG and those health/mana potions you stack to hundreds and every single potion can be used only once. Why should those Praxis Kits etc. in DX:MD behave differently?

EDIT: To clarify; I'm talking about the items that come with the DLC and not about the items that can be bought in the shop. There could be a difference between ... or not.

I'm not disagreeing with you or your definition, merely stating the only viable options that would facilitate a one time use item working.
TBH I'm surprised it is one time use at all as some people have commented explicitly there is no cash shop so I had assumed it was recompiled in the way they probably gave this game to reviewers pre-release without the micro-transactions to reduce the likelihood it would have been flagged as a negative of the game before release.

There are some titles sold on GOG which do have by your definition (and my own) DRM like some titles that will do a 'dial home' before initiated a LAN game and the GOG official response was that it was merely the way the developer opted to implement their systems. I opted to not buy the game in question.
