Setup:
MSI GT70 Laptop
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 670M /3GB GDDR5 (Latest drivers)
RAM: DDRIII 16GB

I just bought Desperados 1 and im having a visual issue.
It begins right after the "clock" loading screen before the intro comes and what companys made it.
Right there at the first intro video the screen flashing in a fast phase and slows down if you dont do anything and eventually freeze.
I tried to start the game, even though i couldnt see anything because f the flashing. I manage my way through the menu and got it started.
Even the loadingscreen with John there was flashing and finaly entered the game and it kept going. But mention this, only the "moving objects" etc etc characters was flashing, not the background.

Anyone can help me?

It would be useful to know which os you have installed ;)

Did you try changing the compatibility mode? Try different settings (Win95/Win98/XP/...)

32 or 64? Sorry for asking so many questions but believe me - it matters. ;)

Did you try changing the compatibility mode? And where did you install the game? If in program files then reinstall it somewhere else and in general try to avoid installing gog.com games in program files

Its Windows 7 64bit , the game is installed in D/Games/Desperados (Its a custom install, yes i changed it). Normally it wanted me to install it in C.
I tried every comp-mode avaible but still the exact same, not less or better good, just the same flashing/flickering.
Even SWAT 3 TGOTY does that but not so much and "ingame" only the text flashes there. But i can still play it.
But desperados is tot unplayable atm.
Ok, i got it sorted out. I chose to run the game with my "onmotherboard" graphcard andit works like a charm. This time,my Nvidia GTX 670M lose :)

Ty for all help anyways!

The most important part is that you can enjoy this great game!

Could you tell me how you picked you graphic card?
This post helped me... I may not post links at this moment, so search on Steam for the topic with the title "Win7/8 & Graphics issues/Performance"

But I had to put the files in the GAME directory

I assume it's this thread:

The linked post summarizes the tips.

Basically it's using Aqrit's DirectDraw wrapper (with ForceDirectDrawEmulation mode turned on) or using dxwnd.
I downloaded Desperados here recently. And had the same problem - screen flashing constatly, making the game unplayable. I think I solved it the same way as Swindahl:

Right-click on game icon > Run with with graphics processor > Integrated graphics

Game starts, no flashing, no lagging - all is good. Attaching a picture just in case. If it is relevant, I am running Windows 7, 64-bit.

Have you tried any of the possible solutions mentioned above?
Of course... but i don't have an "integrated graphic card" :D
CrossFireX disabled and it works perfectly :\
