karx11erx: You are the one not listening to reason. You didn't find something, started to make wild assumptions and rant about it here, instead of going to the right place and kindly ask for help there. You also didn't perform the slightest effort to find what you are looking for. I have explained that in length already, and I am not the only one seeing it that way. I never assumed you did that on purpose, but you did it. For some reason you just seem not to see where you failed in that.
When I click on that link, a download is offered to me.
Your description at least finally sheds some light on the issue. What has probably happened is that the download wasn't available when you first tried it (maybe because I was still in the process of uploading it, or maybe due to some connectivity problem). Now if you try to access a file on my site that isn't available you get redirected to the downloads page (not the donations page!) in an attempt to help you in finding what you are looking for. That's what it does at least for me. Apparently some page with an invalid link is still in your browser's cache. So please clear your browser cache and reattempt the download, or for for heaven's sake get the file from Sourceforge if the built-in auto-updater of D2X-XL doesn't work. Having some old stuff in the browser cache is a pretty common problem, so if you have problems finding stuff on the inet in the future you may want to try and clear it, and then reattempt your search.
Future_pilot,
we're not jumping down each other's throats. There's a litlte conflict going on, but nothing dramatic. The usual occasional bump in life. I am not mad at Halcyon - just pointing out where he went wrong and could have done better.
Did you try the latest versions of D2X-XL? It runs pretty well even on integrated Intel graphics after my removing a single bottleneck in the D2X-XL code. I have tested it on such hardware and it worked great even with some effects enabled (colored light, light maps, some smoke ...). If you need help with it, just ask in my forum.
Would you at least accept my apology?
Clearly your explanation of what happened IS what happened and I had no way of knowing that perhaps--!--the download was simply not available at the time and took me to the donate page.
What happened to me is what happened to me and I saw your name, recognized your name, saw that you were on here recently, and made a point that IF there was indeed an issue with your website page that perhaps it needs fixed, and for the reasons I stated ("possible legalish issues") a good reason TO take care of it. I was not saying "why are you trying to steal from me?" or anything of the kind.
I ALSO would like to point out that I'm not mad at you EITHER, but you are really frustrating me by repeating my 'transgression' against you as if it was with malicious intent.
In the mean time, I'm not sure if its just a digit problem, but I downloaded .189 and the game is telling me I have .188 installed immediately after I the installed .189 download.
Ok--Apparently when you run "update" from inside the game it only goes one update at a time. I ran it again ingame and now have .189.
