Descent never made me sick... it's odd, but the only game to ever make me sick was The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall with head bob and the HUD turned on. I'd get a migraine and be puking in minutes.

That's funny. I used to find myself head weaving while playing Daggerfall to compensate for that, too. :)

aggrocrag: Been trying to mess with the controls for a while, but the mouse sensitivity even when set to the lowest is too fast. After spinning like crazy, I'm feeling pretty nauseous.
Edit: I fixed the problem with the mouse sensitivity. Just adjusted it in Windows, unfortunately the game makes my stomach churn. Not going to be able to play this at all.

Oh wow, do most people use the mouse? I never even thought to do that, I've always played keyboard only.

Zip: Man, that sucks. It's such a good game. If dramamine works, totally worth it.
I've heard of motion sickness being onset by age. People who don't get it from games as kids wind up getting motion sickness from games as adults. What a sad fate...

I can testify to this - I first played this game when it came out and my dad bought it. I was 7 at the time, played it off and on for a few years, sometimes for hours at a sitting, and no motion sickness. I've been playing computer and console games my whole life, including fps and the like, and I recently re-discovered Descent 3. Popped it in, and within an hour I was reeling. :< Time to break out the ginger!

I haven't bought this yet, again. I have the original boxes for all the Descents, and even made some great levels of my own in DEVIL. I used my Flightstick Pro back then, and could do some fancy flying with that thing. Don't think I can hook it up to my laptop now! Fortunately I have a backup USB Stick for when I get around to download them all again.
The sickness and orientation problem was in fact a real plus for me.
Since I didn't had any such problem when playing the descent games back in the days.
But my friends had some.
And therefore i had my revenge for all my losses in doom and need for speed and, and, and..
I really like this series so much!!!!!!!!
I thought i would too. I vaguely remember getting motion sick when i played Descent originally back in the 90s..But now it doesn't bother me at all.
I get motion sickness from playing games like Doom, or Duke Nukem 3d.
I used to get motion sickness from the original when it was released due to the low framrates, but I am doing better now. I still take breaks after one level.
