The save game menu for Descent 3 doesn't display the picture previews. It is all just black, making it hard to distinguish the save games from each other. I have these command line parameters in the Misc tab:

-width 1680 -height 1050 -aspect 1.6 -framecap 120 -nointro

and I am running OpenGL. I notice that when I save while using 3Dfx, the pictures appear, but the screen is weirdly brighter and it runs at a lower resolution, ignoring the command line parameters.

Does anyone know what I can tweak to make the pictures appear on OpenGL? Or perhaps to make 3Dfx work better?

Try using Direct3D.

No, there is no fix for that bug as far as I know.

For 3DFX, you have to use the glide setup program to apply a different resolution (usually located in the D3 folder)

Using Direct3D causes a bunch of visual glitching. There are weird artifacts all over the screen.

I set the resolution in that program, but when it gets to the actual gameplay, it reverts to some lower resolution. Everything about OpenGL is perfect except the save pictures. If there is no solution, unfortunately, I can overlook it.

Try using FRAPS, it has a pretty good screenshot feature.
