It seems that Deponia 3 is currently only available with english audio.

I won't buy Deponia 3 on GOG until it also has the original german audio.

When will the german audio be available on GOG for Deponia 3?
Most likely not for a very long time, a far as I understand Daedalic doesn't have the rights to sell the German version in the international market, hence most of their games are here without the original German version.

This would be true for some Daedalic games, like Chains of Satinav or Memoria, but Deponia is directly developed and self-published as far as I know. They have a distribution partner for the German boxed retail though, but seeing that they can sell Deponia 3 in every language on Steam and other digital distributors, I doubt this does have an effect here on GOG.

It is solely up to Daedalic to bring the German language (and also where is the soundtrack for the game this time?) to GOG I would say. and they decided against it for whatever reason.

Goodbye Deponia on gamersgate: €19.99 (around 26.19 USD), DRM Free, Languages: English, French, German, Russian; Publisher / Developer: Daedalic Entertainment

I want it on GOG!

And to add insult to injury - you get Deponia 1 and 2 with it right now which DO have German audio.

If that's not a smack right in the face of the (German-speaking) customer I don't know what is.

The Deponia games always were on gog.com a bit later - so that there wasn't a cheaper digital German version available while Daedalic still hoped for strong domestic retail sales.

That month of penalty time, however, is over. The game was indeed self published, the voices indeed belong to Daedalic entertainment and the very same contractual obligations to their publisher apply. There's indeed no reason for Daedalic not to put the German voices online, and I am thoroughly annoyed by this little ploy.

Daedalic has a history of asking adequate prices from their German crowd through Steam and retail, but giving away their games for a dirty dime anywhere else, thereby effectively reducing the perceived worth of 2D adventure games internationally. They can't pull off that international pricing crap on gog.com, so they just thought up another kind of penalty. It's a disgrace.

For the record,
I just created an account at the Daedalic boards and asked the question about the German version nicely over there. Even offering my Promo codes as a board-welcome. ;-)

Let's see if we can get an answer this way.

Will weigh in.
I usually don't mind playing games in english, but having already played the other 2 games in german i will wait with purchase until this language is supported.

I hope other people will do the same.

No official comment on the matter yet.

What's clear up to now is that Daedalic DOES have all the necessary rights to publish this game in its original language anywhere, anytime, anyprice. This time, Daedalic absolutely must clarify why the version on gog.com is inferior to its Steam counterpart (where the game's price has already dropped by 30%).
I will wait for, hm, at least 3 days... After that Days, I will ask GoG-Support to refund this game. Didn't know that Daedalic won't release it on GoG without german language...

There´s one thing I really cannot get:
Why doesn´t Deadalic include all bonus content and all speech packs, but asks for 25$?
This would definitvely be the lesser evil...

Indeed or offer two versions, one normal (basic one for 20 Dollar) and one premium edition (for 25 to 30 Dollar, with everything + Multilanguage), like they do on other stores already as well.

Not very nice of them to wait with an official statement until after the launch promo :-(
