Now I got past to the part where I had to duel goal with the sticks, which was pretty fun to do, but I never understood the training dummy. It did not make sense at all. Now I could click skip but I didn't though I did beat goal using the directions on the posters. So yeah, what's the deal with the training dummy making animal sounds?
Training with the dummy and finishing the different levels (up to 5 I think?) is supposed to make it easier to beat Goal. The more levels you finish the more reaction time you get. In other words you may think a bit longer about in which direction to attack / block.

I never found the training of any use, because you get plenties of time from the beginning on. But they may be some (esp. non-players), who may not be used to fast reactions.

Is there a problem with the english version?
I've watched a video of the german version and the training dummy seems to be a mini-game where you have to hit a sequence.
But on my english version, the training dummy just keep blinking and making sound continuously.

Yes that's exactly what I have! It kept blinking for me too and I could not click on anything or rather do anything. So I just cancelled it. I guess I beat the hard version of Goal then.
Oh, sorry! Didn't think of the possibilty that the English version would be broken... The dummy minigame is supposed to work like "Simon", the old electronic game where you have to remember and repeat sequences. But you really didn't miss out on anything great.

I remember that game. That's funny because in the english version it goes haywire. :P
It is a bug, if the dummy is flashing then you have no other solution than to skip it.
Waiting for the patch [again].

I've activated quite a couple of bugs and hickups. Some bugs I don't even know if they're a bug or not. However after getting dorky goal back to her senses, the screen just blacks out after the cutscene. Which still has the subtitles of the first movie scene. Now I had to use the escape button to get ahead but I probably skipped something. =\

Also glitched the hideout thing out. And the dad's place. Both having to do with not being able to click things or the escape button to go to the menu screen not working. Not to mention the invisible cloak loops. As well as I got a textbox error of one of those big goons in the pub who says a line but all that's written on the subtitles is <Insert Text Here>

Now I really love the 2nd game and I feel it's even nicer than the first but these glitches really start to bug me. It almost gets to the point of unplayable. I feel like a test player. Which I did not pay for. Now that may seem a bit harsh but I would not have minded to wait with playing the game until it's mostly bug free.

I do love the game though...

My thoughts exactly! :-)
Thank god it wasn't just me. I tried beating the dummy without skipping at first and the speed it expects you to go at is nearly impossible. I then realized you could level up something like 5 times which I assumed would be progressively harder and therefore physically impossible. Glad to know it's not my failure as a gamer that I skipped it.
Yea, same here. Very annoying bug because I thought it's some sort of insane reflexes test.

hahaha, yeah me too actually. I was trying to click as fast as I could but it would not work. Did the whole goal thing without the training dummy which took a little practise but got the job done.
Count me in as a one with the bug. Currently playing the steam version. Haven't had any other glitches so far
Yeah also had the bug with the german steam version. Otherwise there was no bug for me.
Had the same problem as you guys. I found out that the game isn't really multicore friendly. Once I set the affinity of the main executable to only one core the cutscenes started stuttering, but the Training Dummy and Fight Minigames worked as intended.

So, if you have this problem, start the game.

Now open the the Task manager (CTRL-SHIFT-ESCAPE or however you like).

On the Applications tab, rightclick Chaos on Deponia and select "Go To Process". This will switch over to the Processes tab and highlight deponia2.exe.

Rightclick deponia2.exe, select "Set Affinity...". Another window will open up. Check only one of the CPUs offered here and click OK. You're done.

To undo, exit and restart Chaos on Deponia or go through the above steps again, only this time choosing "<All Processors>" in the Affinity popup window.
