Coming soon! June 2016, to GOG of course :)

Crossing my fingers we'll have time to integrate some GOG galaxy features, too, like achievements, etc.
Deluxified!!!
Looks very, very kewl.
Looking forward to buying it. Can't say I care about any of the Galaxy crap, but GOG would no doubt like it.
Also -- Defender's Quest is now part of GOG connect:
https://www.gog.com/connect

So you have a limited time to get it from your Steam account to GOG if you don't own it here, before the update lands.
Is it out? I saw the trailer today but it wasn't in new releases, and there was no update in my game folder.

Mine updated, but there is no entry in the change log.

Thank you lars ! after gold updates I thought the game wouldn't have any update again. But it seems I was wrong.

And I thought you were focusing on Defender's Quest 2. Turned out you were still tinkering with DQ 1 huh ?

For everyone: The game is already updated to DX version in GOG. Also the "original" version is still available in "Game Goodies" download section.

They did a lot of work on the engine which is used by both games. Lots of under-the-hood stuff. If you dig through their website and blog posts, you can get more info than you probably wanted.

Oh. Lars' blog at the Fortress of Doors ? That is why I missed the update about DQ1 HD.. Last time I opened level up labs' website, it wasn't up to date (around 2014).. so I thought there were problems with DQ 2. And I didn't bother open lars' blog at that time.

Well, it's always nice to get a free upgrade of the the game we already owned.

Yeah, you have to dig a little. There are message boards and a blog, while the main page has hardly changed in years. Development has also been slower than maximum speed because of the number of people and their other responsibilities.

Oh shoot, Level Up Labs has like three old ass blog posts on it doesn't it. I need to put a big prominent link on there to "GO TO THE PAGE WITH THE ACTUAL CONTENT THIS IS JUST A BORING CORPORATE PAGE". My bad.

Hahaha. Yeah. Put some up to date links there so at least people would know where to go if you forgot to update the "corporate" website.

By the way, so developers now have "Developer" as their rep in the forum huh ? didn't know about it.

Just pull $8k out of the couch cushion and pay your underling to do it. They won't need tons of instruction to make sure you get the result you're looking for or anything.
Thank for this DX free work. That's a pleasure to start a new game. Good advert for DQ2.
The works seems so natural that it feels the game was always DX since release. This upgrade is nothing artificial off spirit.
