First of all, I'd like to thank GOG for bringing the game on PC (in spite of some flaws with the port). Seeing York walking around in a dark forest on my PC screen was a great moment :)
But before that, I met a little problem - I did not get the intro (body discovered by boys and bedtime story). Instead the game just showed me a car parked in the rain in complete silence. After some time first two lines of the dialog appeared (Ingrams talking with their granpa) and the game moved to the main menu.
York smoking \ talking on the phone \ playing on his laptop scene played properly and the game itself runs flawless, so I don't think it's an issue with my machine's specs.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance :)

Problem solved (by reinstalling codecs - yeah, I'm an idiot for not doing this in the first place). Now the only issue I have with the game is the lack of good old arrow controls... and RMB to aim, LMB to shoot would be nice :)
Which codec did you (re)install? Do the videos play really fluent then? :)

Uninstalled everything, installed newest K-Lite Codec Pack. Now it runs smoothly as in Media Player :)
Check if you can play videos from the game folder in your Media Player - if they're not working correctly, try reinstalling codecs.

Wait. How do you shoot in this game?

Hold space to go to battle stance (as in Fade to Black). Hold RMB to aim. Click LMB to shoot :) I wanted to have 'battle stance' at RMB, but now I'm happy with it as it is. Went through the opening chapter without taking a single hit :)

Novotnus: Hold ...
I see. It sounds okay. I was afraid for a moment it has an obscure controls like Shift and WASD or something :).

Well, it has WSAD movement and it's hardcoded... But playing with two fingers on W (go forward) and E (use \ evade) + thumb on Space + operating mouse with right hand dragged me through fighting segment with ease.
